Oh my! One hour drive to get somewhere is unrealistic? We dang near go that far to feed the dawg! Silly All kidding aside, people here drive an hour one way to work all the time, that’s if the traffic isn’t bad. To drive an hour, even two, just to go out to eat or go shopping is the normal, everybody does it. (And the highways are packed with some crazy drivers too!)

So now I’m wondering if my 3.3Amp blue laser will burn anodizing (I don’t know it’s wattage, 2 Li-ion cells at 3.3A should have it around 20 Watts, yes?)… it very quickly burns most things I’ve had in front of it.

(Reminding myself to heal before trying anything else dangerous.)

traffic jam, everyday, everywhere(1 hour for 10-15km travelling)
if you can test your laser burn anodizing, i would appreciate it

Glad to see the engraving thing turned into a DIY and not implemented for all, love the Giggles text for sure but love little to no engravings better Wink

Will update the list later.
However I think the mass pm will be send based on the previous update so ignore it if you don’t want it after all.

The PM text is being tweaked (Mr.Scott has just made the layout easier to read)
I think it is ready for sending but when it happens depends on when Mr Scott and SB can find the time to do so.

how can i get “giggle” laser engraved on the light, like the one above it made me GIGGLE Big Smile

Google: Fablab
for your area. The often have a laser engraver. The conditions how you can use it are for each Fablab different, but it’s most small money.

Ask TA for a svg picture of the name

Anyone know of any of the Chinese vendors that have GA“s in stock ?
I have checked Aliexpress, BG, GB & Everbuying & none have any listed ?
Nkon, the european supplier, also doesn“t have any listed.
Failing that I think that Neal posted a while ago that he could supply 8 cells with each purchased GT ?
Any idea what the cells are & the price please anyone ?

i bought some GA’s from an alibaba seller 3 months ago. about US$3.80 a piece and no minimum qty required i think. you might like to try alibaba since their vendors tend to accept Paypal as well anyway.

Here is the Giggles Text that I used in a few different formats. Personally I would stretch it out another mm or 2 to fill out the flat area but otherwise I think it works great.

some guy on here got his tn 42 over a mill lux that reflector is about half the size of this gt just sayin…….

That is with am XPG2 and only 850 lumen. The GT will throw a more usable beam for sure. I hope that it actually gets to 1.2k lux to justify the size of the light. I am sure that modders will get well past that mark very quickly.

89 is half of 118? Must be some Chicago math in there somewhere… just sayin.

When I swapped in an XHP-35 over the de-domed XM-L2 U4 in the Maxtoch Shooter 2X, the throw stayed pretty constant but the size of the spot nearly doubled as did the lumens. I’d much rather have the larger spot and double brightness to be able to make out something long range than the small pencil beam you can’t even decipher with a scope.

Great to get light so far downrange, not so easy to find actual uses for it other than bragging rights on paper.

When I get the PM to send the $14 down payment, I assume that it will tell me where to have PayPal send the $14 and then later the second payment will be to LT for $97?

Chicago math Big Smile
But indeed if a XPG2 in TN42 does 1,2mcd put one in the GT for higher numbers, I stay with NY sharpie beam Wink

And it is about to go down!
PMs could be send in a matter of hours, a day tops.

Yes, you will receive clear instructions as The Miller told earlier.
You have to pay the first 14 dollar to Neal, the rest will probably be told in the PM

Oh gosh I SO hope there is no hype and people do thinfs based on real Info, it is one of the prime reasons to show the whole process and not do things like teasers . We try to post info ASAP and clear, being open about flaws as well as the good stuff.

You’re doing this the right way and I for one really appreciate it. Good man!

Kinda off the current topic but now that there is a second group buy with supposedly no limit in quantity, what happens to those people who want a 2nd, 3rd, and more GT?

Will there be some kind of cutoff so that the people wanting more than 1 can get theirs too?

Those wanting multiples can order as many as they want at the $150 price point. Only the $111 price point is limited to 555.

I can totally see some forward thinking modders buying a bunch of these to make super lights out of to resell. No other reflector host will come close to the performance this is capable of.
