Wait, I'm 42 on the list (in Post #3) and my pm said #42 ???
This is what it said:
Add a note with:
That would be because rvr’s correct number on the correct list is #41.
The PM was very clear.
I paid $ 14.96 for # 397.
…but i forgot to add my phone number… :person_facepalming: (edit: i just emailed it to Neal)
Good luck guys, with correcting the mistakes and adding what we forgot…
The Miller I wouldn’t presume to tell you guys how to run this whole thing but the sheer number of people confused by the number differences between the interest list and the pm is baffling to me, and has to be adding tremendously to the work you guys have to do to double-check everything on the back end. I think I’d take that interest list down for now, or redact out the numbers or something, to avoid even more people sending you the wrong number in their payment. Or at least put a note above the list in the first post begging people not to change their reference number in the PM, no matter what this list may say.
And for all those coming along who are confused, stop over-thinking it. You got a PM with a number in it. That number came straight from whatever list the organizers are working with on the back-end. That’s your reference number for Neal to know you by. Nothing else matters, cause its not like the number is going to be lasered onto your light or anything.
just WOW!…casting my vote now…Sainthood for The Miller & Neal…YES!!

Ok, first off, I’m sorry that I replied to the PM but after looking on this thread I’m still confused whether I need to put the number on the list in the first post of this thread or the number in the PM. I know this is probably annoying since you’re probably getting hundreds of the same question but there really should have been some foresight to make a note of this somewhere to clear up the confusion as others have said. I’m very happy progress is being made with the GT though. I’m ready to make the payment as soon as I know which number to put.

Whatever the pm tells you to do, please do it - the pm has the correct #. You can do copy/paste from the pm to the PP note to avoid an error.
Sorry, I just read the comment that cleared that up. I really wanted to get back to my comment and edit it before it was replied to. Again, sorry, I know this is annoying. edit I thought that the number was the serial. I’m just stupid.
Number 501 Paid. Never been so excited about a light. Keeping it by my bed for protection against the boogieman.
Thanks everyone for all your hard work & time pulling this all together

The cells that are suitable for Q8 will also do for the GT, and may have some benefits against those more commonly recommended for the GT. If I have understood the current(pun not intended) situation correctly, it seems there is only so much voltage overhead for the GT’s buck driver, resulting in longer regulated runtime at max power with high drain cells. On the other hand, high capacity lower drain cells will obviously have more total energy available, translating into better runtime at lower modes and/or at full power while dropping regulation earlier.
The Samsung 30Q is not a record holder with any(?) of its attributes, but is good, very good or excellent at everything. It has an excellent price point for its performance yet a decent capacity.
I’m going with 30Q in both GT and Q8 as I already do with several other lights. Not because it’s the best, but just to keep my toolkit simple and uniform. A GT and couple of Q8s necessitate several matching 18650 sets-of-four, and the 30Q seems like a match. Even four sets to fully populate all of them is 16 cells, and with as few as two spare sets included it’s 24 cells. 30Q at €4 or so a piece is quite an economical solution.
I too vote for the Samsung 30Q as an all around winner and will use them in my Q8. If/when I snag a GT they’ll be in that one as well. I already have quite a few of them in other lights and find them a favorite whether in a single emitter hot rod or full blown quad mod.
About the only place I actually prefer the high capacity of a B or BD is in a headlamp.
Number 353 on the main list, and 319 from the email, paid.
