As implied by “can use 4 cells” both configurations are possible. The GT uses a 4S battery pack or a pair of such, consisting of 4 or 8 cells. The body tube accepts holders(s) for 4 or 8, roughly analogous to a hypothetical beer can light that could be used with four or two(but not one or three) parallel cells. The half capacity config would have less than half the runtime of fully loaded variety and won’t really be a beneficial option; the light is big and heavy to begin with and at that size is expected to maintain some serious throw for a while.

The two carriers are indiviowires in series so putting I’m four cells creates a large 12-16.8V battery
They are connected to the driver in parallel
So using 4 cells bypasses the empty carrier (place it furthest away from head for best balance and easy holding)
Using 8 cells give twice the runtime

In the middle of the carrier + and - are feed thru. On each end of a carrier is a + and - connection. This connectors are concentric ring, I guess + in the middle.
Inside of one carrier the four cells are conected in series
Would be nice to see the list of people that have already paid , so that we know our transactions reached its intended target. There are probably no issues but it would put alot of people at ease i believe.
