Manker E03

In general angle head lights take a back seat to the straight shooters from a popularity standpoint. It seems like its always this way. A lot of people find them ugly and impractical. Depending on how you grasp them, they can be awkward to hand hold (IMHO)

The Fenix HL10 implementation of a diffuser is much better, as it just rotates around the tube.

I think they should have used a TIR, especially with those modern tint shifting LEDs.

Yeah IMHO they could have integrated the sliding diffuser a little better into the overall design. Looks kind of like an afterthought. Still though, an ad-hock diffuser is better than no diffuser. There are times when near-field flood lighting is very nice.

One thing I have found with headlamps is TIR, flood-beam and “mule” optics can be a hinderance when around other people, since you can’t effectively aim them away from peoples eyes. I used a zebralight for 7 years, and it was great… but I found it too blinding for other people when they caught a glimpse of it with night adapted vision. I switched to a TH20, and with its small parabolic orange peel hot spot I find it more practical. As a boy scout coordinator for my sons troop the last thing I want is the troop having to look away when I’m re trying to communicate at night. And we do a LOT of activities at night!!!

I still use the Zebra clipped in my tent as a lantern… where it really excels.

I am waiting for a review of the Nichia version.
Lumens and CRI are still unknown, or?

And a Skilhunt H15 cost the same and is 2cm longer.

If I understand the UI diagram correctly you can switch back to the normal modes by a double click.

So a 2x click switches TURBO on and off.
Seems you can buy one.

It also cycles: Moon, low, mid, high, mid, low, high, moon …
It doesn’t jump from high to moon.

Looks like they changed it from this.

I’d still wait for a review to make sure you don’t have to cycle through the blinkys first. Even if it can go back and forth, it’s still looks strange. Lets say you’re in medium mode and want to go to Turbo. You double click and it takes you to strobe? then cycle through the blinkys to turbo? Or you shut it off, then double click to turbo? I don’t know, makes no sense to me.

Well Turbo has number one, if you switch it should start with Turbo. As I see it’s the same UI as the E02 with an added High mode.
You could ask manker for a review model

Manker posted this UI diagram

I assume it is the same UI as the E02, and IMO that UI is absolutely fine. It is way ahead above what we were used to not that long ago, which was: high, mid, not very low, blink. With terrible 200Hz PWM. The E02 (and E03h) has a nice low moon that is even user-adjustable, no visible PWM, and how you like the way the modes are arranged is a matter of taste, I see no blunders (like in the S42 UI).

Turbo=double-click from any mode (including from ‘off’ ) , and double click again to get to the previous mode. When in turbo, a single click gets you in the sequence of blinky modes.

A long press from any mode is ‘off’ which is ok for me because Manker’s long-press is actually quite short.

Wether you like or not that turbo is not in the main cyclus is up to you, I guess the idea is that you are supposed to use that light level as something special, which may be fair enough for the rest of the world but perhaps not for the average BLF-member

My gripe with turbo from using the MK34, is that after step-down the output is about the same as high, however you’re still in the second group. After a couple of minutes of using this output I often forget that I’m still in the second group, so a single click results in strobe which I don’t expect.
I prefer that after step-down, the light goes into high mode in group one.

But on how many headlamps do you have high CRI Nichia and a on how many headlamps can user program the moonlight with option of 21 levels. My guess is none except Manker’s. Not even, Zebralight or Armytek headlamps (far more expensive) can give you that. I have Zebras and Armyteks but still like both Manker headlamps a lot - just hope they will make 18650 version as well. :+1:

It’s very heavy for its size, the 350 claimed lumens is wrong & the headband is terrible ,my zebra light h52 is a lot lighter , much brighter ( proper 300 lumens) & the headband isn’t like a piece of cardboard

EDIT: Fell off the wagon…… again! But it was on my bucketlist, so to speak

free shipping with track number

that’s an affirmative

Maybe it's a nice sale but posting the same thing in every old threads more or less related to Manker (i stoped counting at 12 but there are more) instead of one thread in commercial seller's spot sounds like heavy spam to me

So they did :person_facepalming: I Agree, I only saw this one.

Sorry to bother you
