Paracord lanyards with lobster claw or carabiner? Where to buy?

Yes, I had the same problem and for me it must be twice as hard, because English isn't my 1st language. Another problem is that people apparently have different names for those thingis... cord ends, zipper pulls, zip loops, clasps, cord locks, hooks, clips, lobster claws... if you find a good item, just look if the vendor has a store with similar items... might be easier than to scan the whole Ebay search result. ITW Nexus seems to be the company with the high quality plastic parts. Let us know, what you are building with those parts...

What I'd really love to do is learn how to make my own home-made lanyards like desperandos, Essexman, and Stormdrane make over at the other place but I don't have the time. Plus when I have a few extra bucks to buy lanyard stuff, I end up spending the money on another flashlight or 2 or 3.

I have an old paraglider at home. These cords would still do for a lanyard, even if they are probably no more good for to fly with it. Maybe you should check if there are some odd pieces of paracords laying around in any of the parasail stores near your place. I think they use kevlar cords as well.

That's a good idea. I think we have a couple parasail/paraglider stores on the other side of the island. I'll check them out when I get a chance. Thanks.

Paracord from GearUpEurope arrived. Great stuff! Although I still haven't any cord lock (I even thought about making one from aluminum on the lathe :) ), this simple one is also very useful. Now I'm waiting for olive drab and sand colors (5' each) from The BushCraft Store :)

Looking good.

I have ordered 12 of these swivel clips for 5 bucks including shipping and I'm thinking about ordering these or these cord locks from Ebay.

I like the 2nd type better, but I don't need so many...

P.S. : Could you adjust your pictures with that "100 %"-trick (point 4) ? It is better for those people who have no 1234353453456" screen ;-)

P.P.S.: Let me show you my collection of different lenghts of lanyards ;-)

Vectrex, just tried 100% trick. Tell me how it looks now?

Hrvoje

Looking even better, thanks.

More fun with Paracord. Tan paracord lanyard is made of the paracord from The Bushcraft Store.

Very nice, did you make the bracelet yourself? If so, very good looking.. but I would prefer curved buckles instead of straight ones.

Which tool do you use for those metal crimps?

Yes, I did it myself, thanks to Stormdrane's blog:

I didn't have any curved buckles, this one is from old accreditation lanyard :)

I used a bench vice and the pin for crimping.

The cord locks I bought on Nov. 7 showed up today :)

Nicely made, looks very similar to the one on the JETBeam lanyard.

Dude you're making me blush ! Embarassed

Aloha and welcome to BLF Essexman!

How's the lanyard business been?

Not a business really, just a hobby that sometimes puts a little extra in my PP account.

It's been very quite around christmas and newyear. I've a couple of orders this week, 6 monkeys fists lanyards in brown leather, and a pair of monkeys fists in paracord to go a sanding tool!

I really must find some time to look around this forum, off to intro myself

Does anyone know what the knot is called or how to tie the knot on the end of the Trustfire F22 lanyard?

Thanks!

To me it looks like a double overhand knot and then 1 strand was tied around the other with a series of overhands...(?)

I just learned of SRM at the time the 9 series knives were discontinued and was lucky

to have purchased some before they all vanished. I hope they continue to prosper.

Uh .. there is a new lanyard in DX town... looks like Paracord. Price is also OK with $2.20

Wow that looks really nice actually in design and color...I think Im going to buy one.

Thanks for posting about it.

I really like paracord now, I'm not obsessed with it, but Ive ordered about 5 colors so far, and plan to order more. So far I only have solid colors, but wanted to get one in a pattern like that...
