more like sinking to new depths….
As long as the truck is also scaled to Jack-size, it shouldn’t cost too much
Ronin42:
I may be crazy, but as you will not need it to deal with implosion pressures would it be easier to build it out of foberglass ot even carbob fiber?
it would be cool to have the (im assuming search lights) be water cooled.
heck get fancy and use the led(s) to make steam which drives the prop?
yes I know, crazy
The body-stamp might not work yet, so I’m still open to ideas
Jack has been working really hard on the light engine, & he let it slip that it would in fact, be water-cooled

Wow! I initially thought the “boat” part would just be aesthetic. It actually propels forward!
Just thinking… might be more efficient with vaping coils, vs LEDs, no?

Definitely be more efficient, good idea - never thought of that.
There’s no doubt other methods as well, but my goal was to use the otherwise wasted heat from the LED’s.

The claim to fame of this build is precisely that the propelling energy comes from waste heat from leds, and I’m looking forward to see where the waste light from the propulsion will go to

Great build FmC!
I wonder if one could power a fan to cool the flashlight with an steam engine that runs off waste heat….probably with a coolant that has lower boiling point than water. I guess it would be bulkier, costlier and less reliable than battery-powered fan, but almost as cool as a boat.

If you ever want to sell Jack let me know. ltp and I both made boats from sardine cans with a similar engine to yours in Secondary school. Love the creativity in yours.

Small update at the bottom of post #3 .
I tell you what... I'll loan him out all next week if you like, as I'll be over in the US for Drag Week.
I don't really want him messing with the build when there's no one around to keep an eye on him. Who knows what he might get up to???

I hope you just make copies of boat hulls with the rubber molding stuff. :person_facepalming:
Jack in your pics above reminds me of Buster on Myth Busters. Poor Jack.
Do you think if Jack come over for sleepovers that he would like to play rough with the sacked assistants?

He’s quick is Jack, so maybe he would have a choice. One of the sacked assistants is called Jack so they may just get on.
The trip away will be orsm so if you need a little excess luggage let me know. As the old saying goes, no pictures it never happened.

Amazing that the entire trip hinges around the ’phone; flights, accommodation, money, photos, etc.
…if this thing doesn’t work over there, I’m in trouble :weary:
