Irma to hit here tomorrow/Monday

Good luck SubSailorVet…… hope all goes well for you & yours.

Thanks man. We’ll be biting our nails through tomorrow and see what it beings.

My younger brother lives in Tampa. There is no need to be nasty. I commented on your incorrect statement and provided factual information supporting my statement. I am REALLY trying hard not to respond in a manner that would offend, and have said NOTHING that could be considered rude but I guess some people just can’t stand when someone else corrects an inaccurate statement and feel a need to lash out. I’m done here. I won’t be back to this thread or any other where I see the author of the op is active.

Might not be hitting South Florida directly, but it’s pretty close to Key West and Marathon Key as a cat 4. Feeling the strong winds hammering the shutters, thunder storms and getting tornado warnings in this area, southern Dade County. Hopefully won’t get flooded, located in a surge evacuation area.

Sure thing my friend. . :+1: . I understand the nail biting too.

Good, because my statement WAS NOT INACCURATE, and you are wrong. The storm is running up the state and is large enough to cover west to east coast and will affect the entire state. Watch the news and you will see that the storm will affect the ENTIRE state of Florida. What you should really try hard is not to insist on correcting people. I guess some people can’t stand seeing something they don’t agree with and feel compelled to correct them when it is completely out of line and unnecessary to do so.

News shows storm is covering the state west coast to east. Stay safe there man.

Wow you are prepared man. I hope nothing bad will happen, but if anything bad happens you have a big advantage.

One advice from me: Do not lose time for praying. Instead spend time on scientific methods for improving preparations and gaining advantage.

All will be over in 48hrs, so stay safe until!

Very prepared Matthew, thoughts from across the pond with you and the rest who are effected by this monster. As said, stay safe :+1:

To those in its path, I hope you and your families have managed to find a safe refuge.
My thoughts are with you all

Sure, thanks. The storm ended up 20 miles further east than anticipated, so we’re getting hammered.

Exactly… thank you. :+1:
This storm is OVER 400 miles wide. It will & is now covering the entire Florida peninsula, east coast to west coast and will run up the entire state… Weakening a bit as it goes North…… but still BAD.

I am in Gadsden, AL (NE AL)…. We have Tropical Storm Warnings all the way up here for tomorrow!!
No big deal at all in the scheme of things, but that just shows what a MONSTER this storm is.

Hang tight SSV & all you people down there in the thick of it!! … :+1: …

PS…… Your “call” was never wrong SubSailorVet…… You said exactly what the storm was going to do…. “run up the middle of Florida”.

That is and has been for the last couple of days exactly what it was going to do.

That is what it is doing right this very moment… With about 100 or so miles ‘extra’ on each side of the state.

The eye will be making landfall right about where I said it would last night when it turned away from the North shore of Cuba.

So no sir… it was not, “to early to call” when you called it.

Good call……

Sorry to hear that. :frowning:Where are you cccpull??
Good luck….

Homestead Florida, just north of Key Largo.

OK… know right where you are. I bet you are getting pounded …… :frowning:

Were you there for Andrew??

Hang in there & good luck……

Stay safe guys.

Good Luck to all affected by Irma :+1:

Upstate SC will see some winds tomorrow, gusts may be up to 50MPH. Rain too but not a lot unless Irma moves well eastward. Most hotels are filled here, some rooms left at smaller ones, a few evac shelters open and staffed, plenty of fuel and everything else at normal prices. People traveling I-85N won’t have any problems after you get out of Atlanta where it will be much worse in all regards tomorrow.

Took yesterday to trim some limbs and tidy up the yard against winds. Noticed the shutter on my LR window was in bad shape so I made another better one. Re-graded the yard a bit for drainage ro counter where my dog had dug. Always ready here otherwise. I’d expected to be working emergency comms at my local Hospital by now but I’m happy for the reprieve  SC got lucky this time with Irma moving west but that only means someone else will be getting the problems we expected.

Stay safe and keep your LiIon’s dry!
Phil

We were spared any severe damage here. We lost cable tv for most of the day and it just came back on and I’m seeing damage done in fl and ga. Looks like the storm did run up the entire state of fl and ruin some cities. Looks like some major damage done in my state of ga. I’m thankful we were spared but praying for those affected.

Thanks teacher. Yea, that dude wanted to tell me I was wrong when it was barreling down all over fl. What a tool. He is insignificant with his maps and satellite photos and predictions.
