Oooooh, that’s niiiiiiiice….

Another light donated anonymously, Klarus Mi7 modded with Nichia 219.

VW - sorry to hear of it, terrible… Hope for the best!!!

As you may recall, I mountain bike and when it’s nec to ride at night, I’ve been using DBCustom/Dale’s
modded lights for both bar and helmet. Usually a triple X6 for the bar, single A6 for helmet.

Last night a riding buddy inquired about lights. He expressed interest in a similar setup.

Pls let me know about your triple X6s and I’ll forward the info.

Prefer something in 4500-5000K tint range. I think mine are 5000K, lower might be better.

And a single tube light, with same tint as the triple. It’s a little wonky when the tints don’t match.

The only mod that we’d need is that light needs to be fully potted so that they don’t vibrate to darkness
(some may go for a while, but some only last 100 yds).

Thanks.

Hello siata94,
I do have a couple X6 triples, not potted, but I could fill them for ya. I will look to get specs and see if I have or can configure a matching tube light. Convoy S2 or S2+?? which would you prefer? Also have a convoy S3, JAXMAN E2 Grey and other A6 or S1 tube lights.

Here is a link to an X6 Triple with 219BT 4500K
I think it has a MtnE Fet driver with Guppy but if I gotta pot it I can swap to Bistro. Also have same emitter to build a tube of your choice.

Not sure of the mounting options out there but have either you or your buddy considered an Eagle Eye X7 triple with 26650 battery?
The X7 may be better because of the balance point being after the head bulge allowing it to clamp on the actual balance point. X6 would be head heavy in comparison. Not sure if you have issues with the lights tilting down as you ride in the rough. Abd the X7 longer run time, 5000mAh compared to 3000mAh batteries.
Empty the X6 is 185 grams and the X7 is 170 grm.
With batteries the X6 is 230 and X7 is 265.
X6 mounting is 24mm and the X7 is 32mm closer to head (balance point)
Both lights I measured are triples with Glass lenses and have copper spacers inside.

Comparison pics X6 vs X7

I have spare parts too, with a couple X6 and X7 lights to build on as triples.
I will list available XP32 boards with emitters already mounted, that I have on hand. I could easily match a tube light of choice to go with…
XP 32 Nichia triple boards
Nichia 219C 5000K D280 80+CRI
Nichia 219C 4000K D240 90+ CRI
Nichia 219BT 4000K D200 90+ CRI

Also the X7 shown above is built with
Kiriba-Ru copper spacer with XP32 MCPCB soldered to it with MtnE reflow XP-L HI V3 3C 5000K on top. Used MtnE 20mm Fet+1 Bistro, springs bypassed. Copper spacer thermal paste into head. Triple does well with this light. Feels great in the hand with the tube length and diameter, Full grip on the light.

VW - that looks great. Unfor when I started, could not find a suitable mount for a 26650 light.
I use the Fenix ALB-10 mount (have several) and all my riding buddies have similar lights
as mine all using the same mount. No vibration issues despite having fun w/ 160-180mm travel bikes.

I believe all were built w/ TK’s firmware so gui is similar. I don’t know what bistro is, I’m just a user ;-).

re: tubelight… I’ve used S2+ and A6 and obviously like the A6 due to higher outputs and identical
tint as the X6. Sure I like the metal button on the S2+ better, easier w/ gloves on but that’s hardly a big deal.
Output/tint/potting/gui is more important, as the tube light sometimes gets used on the bar as well,
like when somebody shows up w/ an ebay bike light and it fails.

I don’t know if PM works better or this thread is preferred… Thanks.

Will PM ya…

Just received the X7 triple. what a great light!

I was thinking of building one myself but not having to wait for parts from china and russia is great!

Thanks vwpieces! This is my favorite triple by far!

Welcome and Thank You!
X7 is also my Favorite in Triple. Overall the same length and head diameter as the X6 but larger tube for more Battery. Because the tube design it is a better light to hold and actually use.

Have a couple more X7 hosts and copper spacers…

Bump

I’m sorry to hear about your job loss after 30 years, that’s not nice at all! I am interested in some parts to build a triple head flashlight, if you have and parts that I can use I’ll Gladly Buy them from you…
I’ll send you a PM.

Thank you and have replied to PMs.

Hello,
Im interested in a convoy S2+ triple. Grey host preferred, like new conditions preferred.
I am interested to see what you available in the S2+ triple department.

They are $65 Shipped in USA with Nichia emitters, +$10 more if you want XPL HI emitters
I only have Grey S2+ hosts and one Red S2+ with metal tail SW.
They have Fet+1 DD and Bistro UI.

If you are interested I can list the emitter sets I have available.
Thanks.
Nick
