Compact 1x18650 Zoomies

BD04 is a zoomie. I’ve wanted one for a while but haven’t pulled the trigger.

The SupfireA2 is good but you need to do LED swap. The driver with blink modes is difficult to swap because of the integrated charging, but not that bad because with no mode memory, you just turn the light off and right back on to avoid strobe.

If size is your #1 criteria and you are willing to mod, the smallest cheap 18650 zoomie I’ve found is this Skywolfeye on Ebay. Pretty compact at 110mm x 26mm (I just measured mine).

Also, if the 18650 battery is not a “must be”, and you can use 4 AAA batteries, you have this one that is similar to Led Lenser.

I do believe that this an original but unbranded (no official logotype) Led Lenser. Sold at less than 1/3 of the price!
:money_mouth_face:

Looks like a good choice for others, but using an 18650 is a must for me.

This Brinyte has been sitting in my wishlist for a while now.

Edit: My bad, it’s neither push-pull nor compact.

If you are not in a big hurry , I have one of the NEW Wowtac (formerly Atactical) zoomies coming for review in the next few days ($19.95)……should have the review up by about the middle of this month (a week or so from receiving the light)

This one looks a lot different than what I am used to in a zoomie though , side switch operation and TIR optic being the big differences and comes with the 2600 mAh USB rechargeable cell for the price. Also hidden strobe and turbo from any mode.

Kind of excited to get my hands on this one really. So far I have reviewed several of their lights and have been impressed with the quality you get for the price of the lights.

No hurry...

I'll be waiting for your review and a review of the HaikeLite HT08.

RC, I was looking for other things earlier today and I “found” the Sofirn SF30A, that is a zoomie, has 3 modes (H-M-L), and takes 18650!

Also, has a price of 1/3 you mentioned above!

Looks promising!

Looks good!

Curious shot at “daylight” white balance:

According to an old XHP35 datasheet I had, such emitter is CRI85+. In the newest one I downloaded, such flux bin and group is CRI90+. :???:

(^̮^)

So I ordered a ThorFire TA13 from AliExpress a few days ago.

It hasn't been in stock at Banggood for a while, and I had a $4 off coupon with AE.

This will be my brightest zoomie by far.

Now I wait...

Eheh, nice you made it  With the coupon it must have been a nice price :money_mouth_face:
Let us know what you think of it when you get it :+1:

The ThorFire TA13 is overall quite a nice flashlight for the price even if no mods involved (can even fit a 21700 inside).

I progressed my investigation with regards to improving flood angle in both the TA13 and Sofirn SF30A (related: Sofirn SF30A Modding, Review, Zoomtaschenlampe @ TLF).

In essence, up to ≈3.5mm can be trimmed off from the head underside. I have not done this personally yet (multitool out of service), but will do.

Cheers :-D

The recently announced Klarus FX10 looks like an interesting 18650 zoomy.

If you feel like buying another try a Wowtac A3S

It’s rated at 1000 lumens which I would agree with. It throws farther than my Nitecore P12 and when both are compared on a white wall the A3S in full zoom will drown out the P12. Also the A3S is about half an inch shorter in length with the head of the light extended all the way, so it’s relatively compact. Using the zoom is very smooth and somewhat air tight so you get a nice sealed feel to it. The beam at full flood is great with no noticeable artifacts and they designed the focal point so that you don’t get the square led effect like most cheap lights. I definitely recommend it.

My ThorFire TA13 finally made it to America.

But why Chicago?

Why not somewhere in California?

I guess I shouldn't complain.

That's a relatively quick trip to the USA.

Okay, I got my ThorFire TA13 today.

The build quality is good.

It always starts on high.

The tint looks kinda neutral to me, which I like.

Overall, I'm very happy with it.

Is the sofirn sf30 and Thorfire ta13 the exact same light?

They look the same, but I only have the ThorFire, so I don't know for sure.
