Do you have any side-by-side pictures of the V1 and shiny V2? (Or, I guess, V1 next to both V2s?) I’m curious about the difference in finish you mentioned.
The difference between the shiny versions are very slight and hard to tell in the pict. The V2 has slightly more of a machined feel in the hand. You can tell a little difference near the base in the picture.
The V2 has a slightly longer battery tube also. A protected 14500 should be no problem like some reported with the V1. I removed the clips on my copies
Got mine in the mail today and it’s fantastic. It’s also VERY matte. Sort of seems like a 3D model that somebody forgot to skin. Looks better in real life than in pictures, imo.

The bead-blasted Reylight, in addition to being longer than the D4, is noticeably grippier. Also noticeably dimmer
I’d like to find some titanium tubing to practice on. It can’t be that difficult. Different temps will yield different colors. A bunch of youtube videos on it.
You can’t really screw it up too bad. Its just a surface oxidation, which can be sanded back off if it looks bad. Not that it would be easy of course, I’m just saying that the work can be salvaged if you don’t like how it turns out.
These look great! Got mine in and I would swear they are a tiny bit brighter than the V1 and my other V2. I also think the 219 is a bit warmer in these, love the tint.
Fantastic light! Have had it a few days now and I love the design, fit and finish. Great emitter and tint. Love the trits. Best with 14500 LiIon. Great deal IMHO. Thanks to Re and RobertB for making this work-of-art available. Cheers!
Don’t understand why these are not getting more traction. Titanium., Beautiful Nichia high CRI emitter, Excellent fit and finish. Simple operation. Trtit slots if you want to fill them. All this for $59? Just glad I got mine and love it!!!
