Convoy L6... XHP70 Beast!

ok so can someone link me to some batteries on ebay that work 100% with this light?

The problem with ebay is you never really know what your going to get. Could be legit cells or could be fakes. That’s why no one buys from ebay. Have you checked if Banggood, Gearbest or Fastech can ship cells to Sweden?

Maybe NKON can ship to Sweden too! The prices are not the cheapest ones, but maybe it can help!

sadly neither BG or gearbest ships those batteries to sweden anymore :frowning: i am so doomed lol… i will check nkon thanks.

No, this is a common problem with these new Cree “.2” LEDs. Your’s might be a defective one. A few people had problems with the XHP50.2 when it came it.

I have not seen this happen as like the 50.2, yet? I would try to re-flow it with a bit more solder paste, I had one 70.2 do the same thing, well almost, flickering , low out put, testing on the rock, re-flowing it took care of it. The other thing was too much heat during the re-flow the solder mask turn color ever so slightly and the 70.2 ended up dying. I re-flowed another keeping better attention during the process, all went well!

There is no maybe.
They do and are relaible.

Jaxman sells the liitokala 26650 that do wonders in the L6, just add a solder blob. Jaxman battery link

I have ordered from them and got batteies delivered to Sweden.

Edit: Holy shit i just noticed the shipping price. That have gone up by alot since i bought from them.

I know they are, I recently bought some batteries from them, and NKON and the batteries are reliable!
Took some days (a week, maybe) to arrive but were tracked and came well packed. The shipment is a bit pricy, though…

I normally buy my Li-Ion from an AliExpress store and so far they were reliable too (Sony US18650VTC6 and Sanyo UP14500P): https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1382210?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.5bdadf47w8hvZ5 .

That is SWEEET! Nice purchase. I’ve never owned one of his lights. Maybe someday…

We were talking about high-powered 26650 protected batteries earlier. The Orbtronic 5200mah is rated for 15 amps.

Another choice would be the Imalent 4500mah 26650. It is also rated at 15 amps. I think it tests at 5000mah.

I am using the Orbtronics, they are resting now after a malfunction w/ the torch!

oke have to ask again, these purple efest work for l6 ? i think i read something about most flat 26650 cant make contact….

its so damn hard to find batteries that fits your budget and that can ship to sweden, aliexpress and other chinese sites is a no go for me… blah…

After a little hunting around I found some specs on those. They show to be 26.5mm ±.2mm in diameter. Does anyone know if that is acceptable?

If you look at the pics here
https://pink-mule.com/1-x-efest-purple-imr-26650-4200mah-50a-flat-top-en

you can see that they are a raised flat top so they should make contact. If not, you can always add a solder blob.

yes that is the question, does anyone here using those type of flat batteries without having to add this solder? im looking at nkons batteries keeppower but says they are not for flashlights so im not sure… come on simon make a new version of the l6 that takes either flat or not its too confusing what batteries will work or not. u guys must think i am an total idiot lol.

Mtnelectronics sell unprotected shockli 26650 button top.

I use the flat top Liitokala 26650s the “naughty” way with a button magnet and nylon washer between the batteries.

Unless the drivers don’t have a spring anymore (too lazy to look back through the thread to look) the flat top has no problem connecting at the top to the driver.

It’s not Simon’s fault. Cree made the xhp70 only run at 6 or 12 volts, not 3 because it would pull too many amps at 3. Then a single lithium battery doesn’t have enough voltage. You have to use 2 in series to get the voltage up high enough.

I think what you really need to ask for is some type of standards in batteries. It’s like the wild wild west with lithium batteries. No standard sizes or shapes like D cell or AA. So we just have to do our best to find cells that fit our needs.

Don’t forget, there is also this little Jaxman series adaptor you can use.

I’m running the XHP70.2 6V with 3x26650 or 4x26500 cells at 9.8 amps with the HX1175b1 buck driver.
