John.

Just received the stonewashed black version of this today. It’s a fantastic knife, especially considering the price.

I hope they will resurrect the ATR stainless steel too.

I’ve got one on the way from FT. FT state a blade length of 80mm, your review lists it as 77mm - now I’ve never trusted FT’s measurements but are your’s exact? I’m just wondering how much I will need to grind the blade down to make it UK legal (76.2mm).
Also, the finger guard which sticks up like a flipper tab when closed - is it possible to overcome the closed detent by pressing the tab and then open the knife with a flick of the wrist?

A few UK legal knives at a great price.

John.

According to the governments information page here , you can’t:

“carry a knife in public without good reason, unless it has a folding blade with a cutting edge 3 inches long or less”

The C192 I got from Ali has a sharpened edge of 70mm, but if you measure it from the front of the flipper tab then it measures 78mm.

I would say it’s technically legal, as the sharpened cutting edge is below the limit, but whether or not the law would agree with that…

It’s 77 - 78 mm, it depends on where you measure it. I can’t imagine flipping this folder open anyway.

I’ll may leave it be at 77-78mm but if it’s 80mm as FT say I’ll grind it down. The genuine Spyderco PITS is 75mm which PC Plod would (or should) be ok with.
I’ve yet to see anything to state beyond doubt that the UK limit of 76.2mm is a measurement of the cutting edge and not blade length - or how either are measured.

Today, I am disappoint! :person_facepalming:

I thought these knives were some traditional spanish ones (= made in Spain), but no… made in P.R.C!

No big deal, they were cheap (~6.5€ unit)
(handle is ABS plastic, blade is ~10cm of unknown “carbono” steel, slipjoint is not strong but OK)

I don’t think the length of blade is an issue at all. The cutting edge is legal. In terms of the “flipper”, it will never flip. It is strictly a thumb opening knife or two hand opening. Well worth the price. I have a couple. One in blackwash, one in blue.

Go for it.

When was the last time you were doing anything that may justify the Police asking to search you anyway……

Hi.

Do you have a link to where this knife can be bought, it`s a nice looking, If you dont want to post a link PM me.

Thanks

John.

John. Either Fasttech or AliExpress. The FT one was just over a tenner as I recall. A bit more on AE

If you click on the “my review” link on his original post, it will take you to Isti’s blog where he links where you can buy it on AliExpress.

Seems like Fasttech also has it, not sure if it’s the same version but it looks the same:

Ordered Thanks.

I finished my review about the Tekut Zero LK5276.

It even weights less than the Ganzo Firebird F759M:

The Ganzo Firebird F759M is only $7.99 on Gearbest 21% discount ends in 8 hours.

Hmm, nice clean design!

What is the bottom knife in this photo?

Got a couple of nice Cima knives t’other day (at long last, haha).

Never had a “flax handle”, but I like the feel of it. It’s got a nice texture, not slippery.

The edge isn’t too sharp right out of the box, so I had to give it a touch-up.

Anyone ever experience a handle like that? Do they hold up over time, or potentially flake/chip/crumble/etc.?

Okay, dumb question…

The sheath comes with a pair of small holes at the end (you can see the pix at the GB link above), and a “shoelace” threaded through it and held together with one of those plastic squeeze’n’slide clamp-thingies on it. The “lace” isn’t very long at all, so if the sheath is hung on your belt, it’s not as if you’d wrap it under and around your thigh like a gunfighter to hold down the sheath in-place. So what’s it for? As far as I can tell, it just, well, dangles.

Does that handle feel like a cloth? Or is it more like a textured micarta?
As for the laces on the sheath, cool maybe?
