TK's Emisar D4 review

Thanks for kind words, looks nice so far(typical 5000k xpl HI), not had real dark yet! So i will have a better idea in 3-4hrs. Quite a large hotspot compared to some small throwers i have had, nice and intense but not to a point its unusable closer up(does that make sense). Personally i think 30-40kcd type beams is ample for most EDC type uses that need some easily accessible throw(variable of course). So many lights are too big to carry easily and tend to get left at home, no excuses with this one!

May be a little bulky for pants carry(pants dependent), but say during colder months and the coats/jackets come out………….should be no issue EDCing .

Tint on my 3A is nice and white looking. So used to my lights being walls of light, that this one looked like a pinpoint hotspot to me. Definitely not used to lights for throw since I’m more urban and nothing I need to see is 100 meters or more away.

Little Emisar family

Put the 18350 tube on and you hardly know it’s there.I don’t even notice a dropoff in output with an aspire cell

Just a few rough n ready beam pics for a rough idea

I meant more for the larger head type bulk. The 18650 form on the D4 is fine for me to EDC. Tad bulky(diameter wise to my ZL’s) but i can easily live with the benefits.

This succinctly says how I feel about my D4 compared to my ZL SC62w.

I have the sc62d in work(only 320lm but use H2 mainly at 145lm!..………its enough for me), so easy to pocket and not know there. For an 18650 fed light, its sure impressive in the compact form stakes.

Here is the sc63w next to the D4

Been using the D4 xp-g2 4000k quite a bit this evening, damn this CT is nice. So easy on my tired and should be in bed eyes…………really like it.

Nice beamshots. Got to love that 4000k xp-g2.

+1 that was my favorite as well.

the D1 looks like it has great spill

although it looks like the camera changed the exposure

unless that one is out of sequence and was earlier in the evening

Too bad I can’t try out my aspire batteries, I think there’s something wrong with my 18350 tube, the light works great with the 18650 and 18500 tube…any suggestions ??

did you try turning it around?
the shorter threads go toward the head

I did try both ends, I also tried using a paper clip to see if maybe it wasn’t grounding properly

Could you post a picture or 2 showing the 18350 tube, particularly the ends?

Thanks

you might try putting the longer threads toward the head
and then trying the paperclip to bridge the battery base to the bare tube edge

it’s such a simple tube there must be a simple explanation
like the shorter threaded part not reaching deep enough?

I had that problem. I used some steel wool on the edges/ends, mine works fine now.

Interesting.

Just found out from reading on CPF about a hidden feature in the UI:

After you double-click while the light is on to jump to max turbo, you can double-click again to return to the previous brightness setting.

The long side worked with the paper clip, but not with the cap, if you look at the picture one side of the tube is thinner.
