Google ads have gone nuts!

that is what you think

 Well there are “tools” available in order for ADs not to showup

+1

For most sites, I have Adblock Plus enabled.

But not for BLF.

The ads here don't usually bother me.

I use https://pi-hole.net/ and think it is one of the best use cases for a SBC. BLF is on the white list but other than that it is amazing.

Better check your computer for potential infection - sometimes malware just displays ‘random’ ads.
Or maybe someone else used your computer?

Mine is showing manhood enlargment pills, next to magnifying glass and precision tweezers, google knows far too much about me.

If you like a site, or are neutral to a site that doesn’t have annoying pop ups, put it on white list, ads are probably their only revenue source.

I'm very careful with my computers.

They haven't been infected in quite a while.

Nope, I don't let other people use my computers.

I did join a new forum (jerzeedevil.com) and have been posting on it quite a bit today.

Just use the most customizable browser Vivaldi with uBlock Original and maybe even uMatrix extensions+Vanilla cookie manager and maybe Stealth Mode extension to start with!

Vivaldi is made for heavy secure browsing. It uses Chromium engine without Googles spying code so all the Chrome extensions and apps work.

Opera used to be the best browser but it started to lose too much of its original functionality so the original makers created Vivaldi.

I have recently been shown a lot of ads for home equity loans.

I found it curious and odd that they were displaying to me across all platforms,
as I haven’t searched for this or even thought about this.

Turns out someone sent me a gmail talking about hurricaine damage to a relatives home,
and mentioned that they did not have much equity in it.

Apparently the terms in this email triggered these ads being shown to me, even though I was not the one who mentioned equity and the email was not talking about taking any type of loan.

I thought it was interesting because this means I could send anyone an email, they don’t even have to read it, and in that email I can mention some things and have those things shown to them in ads.
I have a neighbor who I don’t particularly like. Maybe I can send them an email with hidden text and have them be shown relocation assistance and moving truck ads?
Maybe I can use this to give subtle hints to people through unintended uses?
evil laugh

While reading this thread my google ads say; mortar selector, never searched for some construction materials this year :stuck_out_tongue:

+1. I haven’t used it intensively (just putting on uBlock Origin and stacking tabs), but Vivaldi is my go-to browser at work, and once my laziness allows it, at home.

I use uBlock Origin as well with my Chrome browser. Works great.

All the ads I see are for ad-blocking software.

I used to wonder why until Angler reverse-engineered Google!

duckduckgo, replace the default browser and also stop the default browser page. highly rated

I have been running pi-hole for a couple of years now, it is almost perfect!

That’s weird mine is full of mail order brides, kitchen remodeling and milk (but they spell it wrong, there’s an f at the end…stoopid google)

I don't mind ads that have nothing to do with me.

(That's not new.)

I just thought it was strange that there was such a massive amount of text.

Before yesterday, the ads were much easier to read.

also use Brave for your web browser.

I have no idea how Google is tracking me since I block all ads.
