So it’s neutral white ! but quite cool for a neutral no? comparing to the others?

MT07S is really good considering the heat dissipation. In turbo mode (double click when ON) after 10 min it does not heat at all ! incredible compared to the MF01 or L6 modded with FET.

You also can disable the heat security (see the manual)

I will measure the turbo output drop today if you want.

Well my L6 outperform the MT07S but it’s a XHP70.2 P2 bin with MTN FET driver and high drain 26650…

I’m surprised it’s the NW version.

For information my Canon Eos7d was set to 5000k for pictures

I don´t understand… a flashlight not getting hot on Turbo after 10 Minutes is actually a bad sign because either the LED is way underdriven or the heat transfer to the body is pretty bad….

Sorry, either you have defective one or you are lying, mine gets hot after 5 minute, i can hold the battery tube, but the head is very hot to touch
And that just after 5 minutes

It’s a lot colder in France than Vietnam atm. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I think so, but it’s about feeling, if you are at 10*C but touch thing that is 30-40*C, you would feel hot(or warm, depend on you)

To clarify I mean hot when I cannot touch it anymore. My modded mt03 is super hot after 6 minutes. My s42 in turbo for 15min is so hot (copper head)
The mt07s does heat but I can largely keep in hand without gloves.

During the night I tested it was 9°Celsius outside.

That’s really nice to know that it does not get unbearable to hold it, and that “massive” body seems to be responsible for it.

There is no need to measure turbo drop-out, it was just a curiosity to see how it would work with thermal protection on.

I recently got a bigger light (my first), Amutorch AM30, and it also has thermal regulation. Supposedly when the plate reaches 80ºC it drops the output.
I made a 10 minute test, fully charged batteries, starting from Turbo. At 3 minutes the output dropped, at 6 minutes it stabilized, and at 7 it started to regain some power (slightly) again.

Also, the body temperature, @ 10 minutes, was about 40.3 ºC, so it was possible to hold it perfectly.

My questions for you where more in the way to perceive how thermal regulation work (for output and host temperature, of course) in these big lights, as I’m not experienced on those!

OK i just did a new test with “normal” temp (23°C inside home now)
After 9-10min the thermal protection kick on ! and drop the output. The PWM can be seen with eyes…then stable the output of the turbo.

It is right that body temp raise up quickly than outside test during night !!! This time the temp raise up to 49°C (head fins)

Wow, it takes a while to thermal protection step in! Heat dissipation is really nice, otherwise it would probably kick in first!

Received the MT07S NW today and I am very impressed,
This new MT07S I can compare to 4 other XHP70.2 lights with the SMO reflectors that I have and all were billed as throwers and they were complete failures where Haike I feel here has really succeeded or if not excelled.
All those photons go right where they should go, down range and not down around my feet in a 20ft. circle of light, the spill on this light is just perfect.
I do think they used the same size reflector from the original MT07 but just in smooth, tomorrow I will see if the OP fits in this light.
That reflector always had me wondering how it would work with the new XHP70’s, it has a natural narrow beam profile and it’s deep, so I thought just maybe this might actually work and now I can say it does IMO, very nice light and the design and weight is so much better than that huge original MT07 tank light.
I noticed today at BG that the older MT07 is also a XHP70.2 now or a typo or it really is using the SMO as well, but they’re also claiming more lumens, wonder what gives, driver? I sort of doubt that but may have to find out.
I was very hesitant to buy this light but for the price I was offered and curious about the reflector Haike would use I am really glad I went through with it, this is the first XHP70.2 SMO that I’ve seen that is the real deal.
Very impressed and highly recommended.

As attractive as this light is, especially for this price, I can’t convince myself to get it when I compare the specs and beam shots with the L6. The spill beam is a bit narrower than the L6 as well, which I dislike.
I think I’d rather (just my personal preference) have the MT07S, only about like an inch and a half or so shorter. Less throw, but much wider spill, and a much more compact pocket-able body.

A Buck regulated 70.2 should stay cooler then a FET XHP70

if the heat transfer to the head is bad, the heat up of the light after some minutes is the same, just the LED gets a lot hotter
the power dissipation heats the light up anyways, a thermal resistance can do a delay, while a part inside gets a lot hotter than with better heat transfer

The MT07 seems to have a thermal regulation with a moderate temperature and the XHP70.2 runs cooler than a 70

Here is a Thermal image that I took at work.

This is after 10 minutes on turbo. You can see concentrations at the head but the heat is moving out and away... Temp is set to Fahrenheit.

The top right shows the the highest temperature for the entire time the gun was active on target.

Instead of targeting the fins I targeted the area at the shelf where damage could occur if the heat is not controlled in some way.

You can see that after 10 minutes the highest recorded temperature was 118 degrees F and just a few seconds once thermal protection.

I was really supersized how well it controls heat even before thermal protection.

I want to get another shot and record the entire reading.... The problem is that this is a Fluke thermal gun and the company owns it. Allowing me to test it was not to hard as I have been there a very long time. Getting permission to have any kind of video taken in that area will take approval from about 4 different managers.

LOL they do not even know how to use the gun or even what we use it for but they still make the decisions...

Before anyone asks lol.. The date has not been set on the gun in several years the other information is all correct.

I can now say that it does heat a lottttttttttttttttttttttttttt i mean after 1min in turbo mode i can not barely touch the head.
Output is twice as the stock light.
