Iâve bought a couple, none that Iâve found are slim and long enough that I can get them in all my lights without bumping around of fitting to tight, and itâs extremely hard to find different models/brands in brick and mortar stores around here. I ended up buying a kit of heavy duty tweezers as I like using one, but mine bends kinda easy
Unno, I made the mistake of buying one of those watch-unscrewers, whatever theyâre called, and didnât fit anything deep enough, not even tailswitch retaining-rings.
I also tried a pair of fine tip tweezers.
Mine went Uri Geller on the first try and now they are angled :sunglasses:
Itâs about time we buy some snap ring pliers.
remember that the thread is âthe other way aroundâ - you know that?
I usually use some tweezers I think I bought from RMM - âWeitus No.10â - they have pretty thick tips and havenât bent since.
Nice review bilakos10
Iâve been using the S2+ Desert Tan (Sand or âSandyâ) and it has been one of my most used lights, with XPL-HI U6-3A and biscotti firmware.
I normally use it with the 18350 tube and it has been pretty useful, like a âpocket throwerâ in many cases!
Most of my lights are black, what leads me to say this one âjumps to sightâ among them, being that beautiful inside and outside
The clicky switch, at first it was strange to click, but thenâŠit is pretty nice, works smoothly and doesnât make so much ânoiseâ as the âregularâ rubber tailswitches! Well done Simon :+1:
Yesterday I realized that using the XPL-HI in the lowest level (0,1%) - even in a 8*7135 driver -, allows having a nice moolinght, as the XPL-HI has lower intenstity of XML2 LEDs.
Iâm thinking about getting a 2nd one, with 4*7135 and other XPL-HI tint to have even moonlight and lower levels for indoor
Also, using the XPL-HI with pebbled (60Âș) lenses is pretty good too. It takes out the âthrowâ, for sure, but gives a pretty good illumination range as well :+1:
Yes those.
FT sells a 2 pack for $ 1.79 https://www.fasttech.com/p/7989400
They fit all S2+ models with this kind of button (blue, red, green, clear and sand)
With a little epoxy they fit many more lights
The tail cap for the metal button and the rubber one have different designs, the metal button version has a narrower, threaded opening, and IIRC is a bit taller, the buttons are not interchangeable
Iâve also got the Convoy S2+ Desert Sand with the Biscotti firmware from the official AliExpress store. I got the 7135x6 U6-3A tint.
However, I find the âtimingâ too fast (strobe is flashing too quicklyâŠ)
Hum, for what both said, it wouldnât be âclearâ replacement though, the tails are different :person_facepalming:
I havenât seen black S2+ with the metal switch! Has anyone replaced it?
The timing issues (which were more of an issue in configuration mode) should be fixed in the version of Biscotti on the Desert Tan. The strobe is however an alternating 8/16Hz strobe (only on 1/3 of each cycle). Without sounding like a broken record, I hope that the next firmware version goes back to the original 10Hz strobe (50% on/off).
I have the 3Ă7135 and the 8Ă7135 variants, both in 3A tint. Iâve been using the 8Ă one a lot lately, in mode group 2, and I have to say that itâs a really nice light. The Biscotti driver is definitely a big step forward.
(The 3Ă one is slated to get a 5000K Nichia 219B )
I got my S2+ Desert (8*7135 Biscotti U6 3A Tint) today - I am happy that I bought it to make another triple 219C light out of it.
The hotspot looks pretty ugly - white on the outside and yellowish on the inside - meh.
But that color and that finishing - just really nice. I like the matte finish of my M2 really much as well.
I have to agree with the color and the finish of the light.
I had the chance to use lots of lights, but the matte finish of the Convoys is one of its kind.
