FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

I would like one please.

Sign me up for 2 please. Thanks

If I read it correctly… this is a 3000 lumen light for $30?!

Yes, you read it correctly.

Yes unofficial yes, but official “only” 2500
Not for long, it will get hot fast of course, but lucky us, Narsil makes it very easy to set different brightness where it can shine looking  (puns intended  )

If there’s room on the list, please add me as well. Thanks!

Yeah will do

Wondering if there’s a possibility of adopting TK’s Anduril, the refined Narsil? In that UI you can set floor and ceiling limits in the ramp, which greatly helps control heat but still allows full blast in a double click if or when it’s needed. Very handy stuff, that!

Ooo, I like that! :+1:

I could really use it in my mini L6. I’ll have to see about maybe reflash in my driver. Thanks for the info.

congratulation !

you found a good partner for your project

Heh guys….What are the projected modes and runtimes for this baby? I could be interested if it has anything in the 30lumens/60-70hrs runtime.
Thanks

It has smooth ramping… so it has every brightness level from ~0.1 lm to ~3000 lm, and it has every runtime from ~20 minutes to ~80 days.

We said Narsil
And TK has reworked the temp management for the Dx lights to better suit small lights.

Tom has been very busy on the Q8 and let’s not forget the ramping was introduced, programmed during Q8 development, so it is a relative new part of Narsil.
Do know both TK and Tom are involved in the PMs about the driver.
Personally I think the Anduril idea of setting floor and ceiling to ramp is very nice. And for me such thing would be logical to have in the settings menu for Narsils ramp. But that is IMHO, and such things are up to Tom and TK.
Again for me, having the exact same UI on the FW3A as Q8 and GT is preferable so they all act the same.

If I am not mistaken Anduril is ramp and no modes options.
So and again personal I like to see a merge where the ramping of Narsil can be tweaked, extra blinkies and temp stuff from TK build in the now widely known UI and options of Narsil.

But this is IMHO and we all know for each little thing people can want their way, for each options some like it and some don’t.

So please stop telling yours in regards to firmware for in this case it is only up to Fritz, Tom and TK to choose and expressing a strong preference for A is not nice for B and vice versa, so it simply doesn’t add

We all know with $10 of hardware new firmware can be flashed, we have already seen BLFers build drivers in several sizes where buyers can chose different software so it will be good whatever

@the Miller
well the other way is you can flash Anduril always on the Q8.
And if TK get a driver from the GT I guess there it will run on the GT

Right joe, and so will mine.

2 things come to mind here, from what The Miller said up above. “So please stop telling yours in regards to firmware for in this case it is only up to Fritz, Tom and TK…” First, this forum doesn’t exist, nor does this thread, so one can tell others what to or not to say. And secondly, BLF is widely known for divergence within a thread, we have always and shall continue to always speak our minds here, for this is how ideas grow into fruition and Qlite drivers morph into FET drivers. I am happy to have been a part of all that and salute the Comfychair’s, MattAus’s, Wight’s, RMM’s, ChicagoX’s, PilotDog68’s, WarHawk’s, Old-Lumens’, MRsDNF’s and everyone else that have changed the face of flashaholism here at BLF. And in the immortal words of Foy, (with some Justin thrown in for good measure) Itiswhatitisandthat’swhatmakesusspecial!

To throw in an unsolicited third thing, it’s up to all of us, the flashaholic consumers, for no matter what the only way it flies is if we buys.

I truly do understand where you’re coming from Wim, and I know how complicated and confusing the massive threads can be, but when you run open, you invite it to be so, it’s really that simple. The alternative is to develop it behind closed doors and have it produced, then offer it for sale to the public, like we see from virtually all others. But then, it wouldn’t be special and couldn’t be a BLF Limited Edition, could it?

Edit: And for the record, I’ve been using ToyKeeper’s ramping for a looooong time before y’all thought up the soup can light. Over 3 years ago. So ramping wasn’t introduced in the Q8, and Comfychair had it back in 2014 as well, I’ve been flashing theirs onto morphed 07N07 equipped FET drivers since the beginning.

2x on list plz, ty

Dale I know what you say and sure asking to let something go can have the opposite effect.
You know I would not Dale to forbid anything ecsn if I could heheh.
But before a lot of people wanted to express their preference I had to ask for some restraint , be ause we take all serious, whether it comes from a seasoned veteran or a new member.
The OP is clear we state Narsil, and now all know TK is involved too so if it changes it will be made clear at that time, there is thus no need to express a different wish then Narsil now. Want something in Narsil, post in the Narsil thread, want something in Anduril, post in the FSM thread

Yes of course ramping was not invented and first brought to us via Narsil or the Q8, the ramping was implemented in Narsil because of the Q8, so it is a relatively new feature of Narsil and as such could use some user alterable config settings to bring it on par with the modes, but that is again up to Tom.

Hehe didnt even know I asked for 2 but see I am twice on the list.
Was going to ask for a second one anyways so its fine  thanks

EDIT: I did ask 2 times haha. Seems I want it that bad
