What Flashlights You Have Cleaned Tonight

I cleaned my old flashlights as below. Also lubricated their threads and put fresh batteries in them. Took me over 2hours.

I cleaned my Thorfire TG06. A nifty little light, perfect for business trips and travel. Great tint as well! (neutral white IMO)

Wiped the lens of my Convoy S2. Otherwise, not much else; the last real maintenance touchup I did was spray some silicone lube on the o-ring of my Olight S2, and I haven’t so much as used that torch in ages.

’502B. It’s lens-up in my holster, so always manages to collect random dust’n’dirt.

I really need to go over all my lights, break ’em down completely, grease up all the O-rings and threads. Don’t wanna use petroleum jelly (despite always being the “recommended” treatment for O-rings and seals), so anyone have recs?

Is petroleum jelly not good for rubber ring or aluminum?
I like them to be thick lubricants and last long.

I also found some flashlight lens are clean inside and outside. But not sure why certain brand of flashlight have blurry lens after years. It is a thin layer of fog inside and I can’t clean them if the head are sealed.

Yeah, silicone lube is supposed to be good, but I have no idea why PJ seems to be poo-pooed.

Probably outgassing from something that’s inside it. Could be plasticisers in cheap O-rings, who knows…

I stopped using Armor-All™ on my cars’ dashboards and the like. Not just because they end up overly slippery, but after a while a thin but annoying haze develops on the inside of the windshield, that takes scrubbing with noxious chemicals to get it off.
