ENEDED

It was 3P-2S3P, so 6V for the two leds in series, with 8.4V input voltage.
Now they’re saying they’re changing to 3P6S? You need a different (boost) driver or not?

How uneven does it need to be in order to qualify for a replacement? I do love my MF-01 and will be ordering a second one in the next few days, and the differences between the brightness levels aren’t as pronounced as what I’ve seen with some others. But the problem seems to have got slightly worse over time, and I’m worried that this fault might turn into something more severe, especially as I like using my lights as candles.

Since I’ll be having a backup fairly soon, I don’t mind sending back the head for one that works correctly. What should I do - get in touch with BG CS?

I’m trying to figure out the same thing. I would have already sent mine back if I’d had been asked. At this rate, it’ll be mid-November or even December before this is resolved. :person_facepalming:

If somebody would make one of these with all the LEDs fully collimated I’d pay 300 to 400 dollars.

Lexel’s TA driver would be perfect on this.

Well here is something interesting, checked my tracking with flyteexpress and, da-daaa !

So it looks like Banggood shipped from their EU (UK) warehouse, I might even get it in a couple of days

If indeed changed to banks of 6 LEDS in series, with a boost converter (or one converter per bank), that could be very interesting.

If well regulated it could be superior to the existing buck converters (running 2S LEDs from 2S cells), once battery voltage drops. Less loss in LED wiring and MCPCB traces too.

If it was down to me, I’d also arrange one bank to be the inner circle of 6 LEDs, and switch off the other two banks at lower levels. That would eliminate problems of uneven illumination of banks, and allow finer control of lower light levels.

Fingers crossed for something along these lines, rather than just a minor tweak. Should soon know.

Please contact BG CS.

Has anyone contacted you yet?

A boost driver for constant output is the number one thing I’d like to see changed. However, I just don’t see this happening…

Nichia MF-01 ordered! Thanks Freeme!

Has anyone contacted you yet?

Not yet. I’ve also been checking my junk email folder, just to be sure nothing was was placed there.

Guess mine counts as extremely ‘uneven brightness’ - one bank always 100%, can’t be turned off at all (have to unscrew the tail or head).

By the way, Chinese holidays ended already? because I still don’t have any response from BG. And after that, it will be waiting for the light to be shipped back, then shipped again to me…
disappointing a little.

I can help you get a MF01 driver with Narsil UI

Thank you, I will consider it but currently I am waiting for BG.
Though I got a reply. They asked me to use Samsung 30Qs and retry…
… no comments.

Just so everyone is aware Banggood can not ship batteries to the US for some unknown amount of time due to a battery related fire at the Hong Kong airport. They are issuing refunds if you placed an order for batteries. Same with most batteries at Gearbest.

You are lucky. Mine:

Order Date: 2017-10-09 13:24:19

Shipped Date: 2017-10-09 19:58:02

When tracking:

Item status not found in the system.

That is to be expected from Banggood page. Mine still shows “not found” there. This is normal behaviour for Banggood. IME. Usually nothing ever shows there until I have actually received the item.

You have to take the tracking number from BG and paste it into e.g. E404 to get results.

In my case the tracking number from Banggood was a recognisable UK tracking number ending in “GB” which https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/ also recognised.

I think, if yours is also being sent from the EU warehouse, (which is in the UK), you might get results this way.

Could I have a code please? Thank you.

Thanks for that link.

Last thing that happened.

Im using Trackchecker mobile app but that didn’t find anything either.
Guess I have to wait for the slow boat before I receive my MF-01.

Hmm, I hope mine doesn’t turn out to be a “first wave” one, old stock or returned

I was surprised it isn’t coming straight from China.
