I had a conversation via PM with one member. Heard no replies from the person for weeks. Then when I checked the conversations, I could only see my own emails. The person just vaporized. I can't find any trace of him/her. All of his posts also gone.
Could he/she got banned? Since I can't find a way to delete my own account/posts.
Hmm, I think so too. This member has a reputation to often delete his/her own posts when still around. This is a bad habit, makes a thread totally unreadable for other peopleās reference.
I was once running a giveaway on another forum and ran into one of those folks. He got upset when I disqualified him, but without any history I couldnāt prove beyond a reasonable doubt that his account wasnāt a duplicate or āaltā used to game the giveaway and increase his odds. Too bad.
Some folks just do that I guess ā they add content, make comments, whatever, but go back every few days and scrub their history. No idea why, maybe they think it protects their privacy and anonymity more? I donāt know, but whatever causes people to do that, it definitely makes things hard for the rest of us.
Very common on reddit, there are even scripts or add-ons available that scrub your past posts. Not sure why people would worry so much about an anonymous account on a forum.
