Option 4

Option 2 for me!

4. Personally I think tactical lights need to have memory so that momentary can be used on any memorised mode. Ability to turn memory on/off would be a good feature for dissenters. A single frequency strobe (e.g. 10Hz) accessed by double click or long click, that can be memorised would also be a good feature. Personally I think the Thorfire TK15S has the best tactical UI only spoilt by a variable 2 frequency strobe.

I”m already spoiled with NarsilM but…option 4

Option 4 too
But…

If it starts in turbo I prefer without memory but it starts in moon I prefer with memory

If memory ON/OFF is selectable and direct access to strobe it is the max

PS: The access to strobe should be only when necessary

It’s hard to say without knowing anything about the hardware and intended purpose. I tend to prefer not having memory, but it depends.

Every light should have memory, hate the ones that don’t.

It looks like “4 modes” will win over “5 modes” in this poll. Can someone tell me what the advantage is of having one fewer mode? I know some people just like fewer in general. Those would probably have voted for “3 modes” if it had been a choice. But is there another reason? I’m curious. I’ve never used a light in a “tactical” way before. I’m also not a hunter. So, chances are good I’m missing something. :stuck_out_tongue:

missing Bistro or something as option, so we can choose ourselves! Manker knows it, already made lights with it.

I voted 3.

I can’t understand people who actually use their flashlights to want memory. When switching on a flashlight I want to be dead sure what mode it comes on in instead of some random.org light level.

But I guess this discussion will continue as long as BLF will exist.

Well Djozz, memory, number of modes, order of modes, it is all personal and some feel very strong about A where others swear by Z. With the proper firmware all can set it up how they like.

Yeah. I like to have mode memory on my lights. I also like to have direct access to both moonlight and turbo. That gives three options from off, with the memorized mode being one of them. It seems to me that the reason I want mode memory is the same reason you don’t want it. But I think the driver should be made so that mode memory can be disabled, to cover everyone.

Took the words out of my mouth. I always want to be able to access moonlight or turbo from off, with memory as a bonus. The way the firmware on the Q8 and D4 handles it is great.

This is of course a “tactical” light, so clicky switch.
Big fan on Bistro for that , from low long press gets you to turbo, neat.

Option 3 for me. The more important not memory,….I never have memory of what mode has any of my 100 lights……
