ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

Bent the lock bar back too far on my first attempt, had to take it apart to bend it back so it would actually lock :person_facepalming:

It’s working great now though, although I do have to remember not to place my fingers on the bar as I’m trying to open it. It’s my first frame lock, so it’s taking a bit getting used to.

That’s the trick with frame-locks.

I got this sweet Bastion EDC carbon fiber handle ceramic blade knife in my TacPack monthly subscription box. It is the lightest knife I’ve ever had, and the blade is razor sharp.

I took apart my LionSteel KUR copy for some cleaning and oiling. I can confirm that the titanium wire clip is reversible for left hand carry. The nice fit & finish of the hidden parts was also a pleasent surprise:

"LionSteel KUR copy", £28 is a lot of money, Is their a copy of a copy available for around £14, I have to keep under that Import tax limit of £15

John.

How would customs know the price of the knife? I have never ever received an invoice with any of my purchases from Aliexpress or DHgate?

Is the parcel value not on the custom declaration on the outside of the packet.

+1 smaller the smaller ganzo blades are so much better for edc.

John.

thanks for the FB7603, my first Ganzo

I don't like GB, charge for shipping, but it`s not tracked, recommends you pay for tracking, and also for insurance, more money every time but shipping is still slow.

FT give virtually free tracked shipping, delivery my last two times was 15 days then 9 day`s not bad to the UK.

John.

I bought a couple of knivs from GB recently, never paid for registered shipping.

It’s swings and roundabouts with shipping - ultimately, if you don’t like the price, you don’t buy it. There’s always AliExpress and DHGate for other options. As to keeping the “import” value down, I’ve never been troubled by that and have never been hit with any demand from the Border Agency. I just wouldn’t worry about it mate.

I got a kind of “California Sun & Surf’in Flipper”, because the story says that the name and design of the Kizer Ki4483 Eliminator 2
is somehow inspired by the sound of the Eliminators The Eliminators - El Borracho Whatever that means, it is a pretty good knife anyway.

passing the customs a damned good deal.

 &

Nice knife MAC, love the blade but the handle is not grippy enough for me.

I want a Kershaw Grinder, It`s like £25/$33 in the UK, and only $16 in the US , It only has an 5cr15m blade but i love the shape.

I ordered one of those ""GANZO Firebird FB7603" for GB on sale myself, Make me sick i cannot carry in public, I have this teeny under 2" blade all steel flipper as my new EDC.

Handy free parcel tracking service, sends you free email updates if you will, seems to show more detail than other trackers.

I have 3 being tracked at the moment.

Disclaimer: I am not a knife guy, i know almost nothing about them….nevertheless i do want one for my camping escapades.

I do have one foldable i carry with me on my belt whenever i am in the woods.

Every now and then i take a hatchet to it to make kindling off of bigger logs. I would prefer a foldable, with thick enough of a spine on it that it can take some hatchet-to spine contact.

If i do that, is the better option a non-foldable More-type of knife? Ganzo?

I would want to stay below $30. Can you also recommend a good fire steel? (not too hard of a steel) I’m planning on using the spine of the knife to make sparks, not using a separate striker.

Any good suggestions?

Obviously, a fixed blade is the better option for this type of tasks, but if I would have to pick a folder below $30, I would pick the Ganzo G720.
Thick blade stock, very comfortable in hand and can take some decent beating. It can be found on Gearbest or Fastech for $20.
