[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Sorry, at the moment there is no SOS in NarsilM:
Strobe, police strobe (two frequencies), bike strobe (continues light with a stutter), 2sec beacon and 10sec beacon

I’d like to be added to groupbuy list.

There is a new updated reflector to be tested before a build date can be nominated.

Sounds like we’re going to get an even better GT

Thank you 2x !

Whoops! Your right. Even the older versions did not have SOS. That slipped right past me. Thanks for the correction.

You need help Jason.

Not trying to rain on the parade but I want people to realize that a video can look a lot different than what your eyes actually see, it is all in the settings. Have watched hundreds of videos of lights I actually own and almost none of them look as bright to my eyes as they do in the video. You can mark this post #8050 and refer back to it once people start complaining that their light is not as bright as the one in VOB’s video. It is still going to be an awesome light.

I have noticed that too…but IMO it can go either way, brighter (or less bright) than the video.

well, it depends on many things, camera setting, humidity, etc, for example, i have manker u21, in urban area, i cant see the ray, but when i move to more rural area, dang, it was awesome

Ιs it easy to get the police strobe please?Because, when I go out at night,I already have in my hand a strobe ready light.Something with two switches,so when I press the tail switch it goes directly to strobe.

The police, or tactical, strobe is the 2nd blinky. It’s a bit tricky engaging strobes.

If your in ramping mode, you have to dbl click, pause, dbl click, pause then single fast click. If you practice a bit it’s easy. I would not recommend it for self defense because it’s so tricky. A dedicated light with strobe is a better choice.

If your in mode sets and the light is off, you can just press and hold for 1.5 seconds. The light will go to turbo then to the first strobe. As soon as the strobe comes on you can release the button and do one click and it will move to the 2nd strobe.

If your in mode sets and the light is on, then it’s pretty easy. Just press and hold about 1 second and the light will drop a level, then strobe comes on. Do a fast click to cycle up to the 2nd strobe. This is actually pretty easy and even works when your on the lowest brightness level. One more click will take you back to the brightness level you were on.

Keep in mind this above is all using the Q8 version of NarsilM v1.0. When the GT comes out it will use NarsilM v1.2. I think strobe/blinky mode access should be the same, but with a few changes to make it easier to cycle through all 5 blinky modes.

The bottom line is the GT is really a self defense designed light. It’s more for search and rescue or just having fun. A simple blast of turbo to a person’s face at close range should be just as effective as a strobe plus is easier to get to.

Wow lots of new members, at least 13 since my past post.
Will update the list soon

Thank you very much.

Add me to the list, please!

Sorry if it’s dumb question but why would anyone want strobe or police mode on 2+kg flashlight?

I mean what would be the purpose?

MARK EDIT list updated

IF YOU ASK TO BE PUT ON THE LIST AFTER THIS POST IT WILL HAPPEN AT SOME POINT. NO NEED TO ASK MORE THEN ONCE OR PM ME JUST RELAX

Reflector should have reached the US now, so tantalising close on some actual news!

Let’s say just a question.

Say you finally managed to hoist the GT up the mountain, and while almost up there you break your back carrying it (plausible scenario), you can use the strobe/SOS/beacon pointing down into the valley right into someone’s bedroom who then wakes up and yells out of the window to switch the fr**kin searchlight off. He may even warn the police for you. :sunglasses:

Is anyone planning to strap it to their bike and use bike strobe? Probably not.

I have zero use for any of the blinkies.

Since NarsilM, as a UI, can be used across many different sized lights, it’s just easier to keep them in the software, than remove them. I guess it’s better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.

Ps, why was SOS not included? Does it take up too much space?

Ha ha that’s right answer, very justified situation
