Add me to the list, please!

Sorry if it’s dumb question but why would anyone want strobe or police mode on 2+kg flashlight?

I mean what would be the purpose?

MARK EDIT list updated

IF YOU ASK TO BE PUT ON THE LIST AFTER THIS POST IT WILL HAPPEN AT SOME POINT. NO NEED TO ASK MORE THEN ONCE OR PM ME JUST RELAX

Reflector should have reached the US now, so tantalising close on some actual news!

Let’s say just a question.

Say you finally managed to hoist the GT up the mountain, and while almost up there you break your back carrying it (plausible scenario), you can use the strobe/SOS/beacon pointing down into the valley right into someone’s bedroom who then wakes up and yells out of the window to switch the fr**kin searchlight off. He may even warn the police for you. :sunglasses:

Is anyone planning to strap it to their bike and use bike strobe? Probably not.

I have zero use for any of the blinkies.

Since NarsilM, as a UI, can be used across many different sized lights, it’s just easier to keep them in the software, than remove them. I guess it’s better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.

Ps, why was SOS not included? Does it take up too much space?

Ha ha that’s right answer, very justified situation

A plausible scenario is while you are doing a search and rescue operation on a mountain you get injured or lost and need to signal that you need help!! With the beam and throw it will make a great light for signaling searching aircraft (and people in the valley) as to your location and that you need assistance in case your radio is dead or out of range!

A momentary on button might have also been considered for the GT for search and rescue and signaling purposes….just a thought for a light designed for search and rescue! I like that my Acebeam K70 has a momentary on it is very useful so you can quickly look in a direction without having to go through the UI just to take a quick look in a direction…. plus signaling is now a viable option especially with the distance you could signal over in Morse Code…… just some thoughts; still thus far the GT looks like an awesome light for search and rescue!

Thank You for the clarification!

Please add me to the list! Thank you.

TA already got the prototype 2
just waiting for his review.

Thanks for the info Neal

Yep, Prototype 2 showed up while I was at work yesterday (turned out it was a whole light and not just the reflector which is great!). I only had a few minutes to look at it this morning before heading back out to work but first impressions are it is a significant improvement.

The reflector is MUCH better.
The kurling is fantastic as well, perfect combo of style, grip and subtlety. A+ on that.
The polarity protection of the cells is also great. I like how they ended up doing it, makes it easier to insert the cells, A+ once again.
The new carriers are nice as well, all metal construction this time, double springs and should have lower resistance but obviously didn’t have time to dig further in a few minutes.
It also has an indicator LED in the switch now!

I will try to make time tonight if I don’t get home too late to look at it closer and get some pictures.

Great news , thanks TA !

Green light is coming….

Great! Some news after 2 months of, “just waiting relaxed for improved reflector”.

Should I order the batteries, yet? It take 3 days for them to arrive.

great news !

It is still at least a few weeks until it is ready to ship. So up to you when you want to order the batteries.

I think the lumintop is going to try to get some Samsung 35E or another good cells to ship with the light but they have not confirmed one way or the other yet and no clue on pricing. So might be worthwhile to wait and see what lumintop comes up with to ship with the light.

The 35E is a great cell for Giggles.

I’d have to agree, a 1/2 push momentary (to whatever was last used setting) would be ideal. would def make it a far more useful light all around.
