It was a timed deal on their page with no precise time set, just a countdown. Countdown that showed different time every time I refreshed the page.

Regular price was much higher. Unless you suggest Iâd have to stay in my shopping cart and refresh every couple of seconds it for an hour. BS.
That is exactly how youâd do it. Unless you buy the item within seconds after the hour, you wonât be buying it.
As an example, I just bought the cell phone holder the team posted for .11 $. Purchased it about 3 seconds after the hour (order submission), and the item was sold out a few seconds afterwards (all of them). And this is for an item where the overall savings compared to the regular price would be like 1-2 bucks.
The cart is the only way to purchase a flash sale, coupon or limited offer item, afterwards youâd still have to go through shipment/order page and then paypal processing.
(edit: Should have said âmy preferred wayâ when limited flash sale and you have to act quickly on the web store, it is not the âonlyâ way. Apologies for the confusion.)
2 years ago you could literally take 10-20 seconds and then buy a second item. Last year it got very tricky, but it was still possible to buy 1 item. This shows how many more consumers are now actively buying on Gearbest.

You donât get my point. Flash sale started when the countdown clock was saying that it will START in 9 minutes! Thatâs why I missed it completely.
I do what serp mentioned above, set your computer clock to a time server that is accurate re: UTC. I found that the apple time signal is 100% accurate to the Gearbest deals, for example âApple Europe (time.euro.apple.com.)â and enable âsecondsâ and flashing separators on Mac OS.
When the promo slot comes up, count down yourself for the last 10 seconds while watching the clock and being with the cart, and then click through the cart. It is a real adrenaline rush like an order fill when buying/selling stocks 
The âcountdownâ on the website is only an indicator when you can click through in the cart; when I use Chrome and Firefox (on the same promo portal) both show different times for the items (and sometimes, like in your case, keep counting even after the sale is through).
edit: the real proâs hit the cart at about xx:xx:58.5 so the refresh is on the hour and youâll be first in line for the order submission. youâll have to be exact and a bit lucky though.
