I guess the gt is so small that we need an indicator led to find it in the closet. I almost always deactivate indicator leds if possible from my flashlights. Not a huge fan of something I personally don’t use, especially when it introduces more places where potential problems or failures can occur. I have a feeling that at least some q8 team members would have preferred thorfire’s “gift” of double led indicators been left off since most initial problems centered around those leds. Then again Lumintop is a horse of a different color as we say on the farm here.
The indicator on this light did not appear to stay on when the light was off but didn’t look too close.
Also it can be disabled in the firmware IIRC.

It is not looking like I will be home early enough to mess with Giggles tonight. Hopefully I can find a little time before heading out in the morning to put it through it paces.
The new version of NarsilM to be used in the GT has a “tactical” mode. I forget if it takes 5 or 6 fast clicks to enter and exit the mode. Anyway, when your in that mode the side switch acts like an instant on switch. You can blink out Morse code, etc…
The K70 is a Thorfire based light using their own driver design and software. It uses one green and one red led for voltage indication.
The GT is being made by Lumintop and using NarsilM. It is not able to use a seperate color led for voltage. It will have the batt check feature, plus the main led blink when low voltage protection gives a warning.
Can you find out if this latest prototype is using the new NarsilM v1.2?
I think Tom E just recently finished it so I don’t know if there has been enough time to send it to Lumintop and for them to install it.
Maybe Tom can give an update on that?

I'm already in the list and recently got up to date with the design thanks to The Miller's 1st updated post.
I checked it and was wondering:
- Why the front glass was changed for a plastic one?
- Is it AR coated in some way? (it would benefit the flashlight efficiency & throw considerably)

Have you thought about making a thread at the front to attach a diffuser? (like filters on photography lenses)
It would be VERY helpful to give more "flood" light, if the user wants or needs it.
I have it on a Acebeam K60 and works great
(I don't know the exact diameter and thread dimensions it should have, 120mm or more I think, maybe it would require a custom made filter, but it would be GREAT to have the option...)
