Is it still going to fit 26650 in all slots and still do 3A each? Like a C8-12 or C8-24.
It’s interesting, but the higher price might put some people off. On the other hand, for those that might be in the market for a big charger, if the price is less than buying 2 of the C4-12, then it would have appeal.
having that many slots is mostly used when no one is there to put new cells in when 4 cells are finished, like charging for next nightshift, while no one is around
usually it makes no sense to get very high charge currents on such chargers, simple 8x1-1.5A charger would do the job, no display or other fancy stuff
Flashlight testing, review. Stormy nights with downed trees and a mess to clean up, charge a lot of cells up and head out into the night. Charging cells for 2 BLF Q8’s, or one BLF GT. There’s a lot of reasons to have an 8 cell charger. I have 3 already, and it’s not enough even with the 4 bay and 2 bay chargers I have to assist them.
Was just talking with a friend earlier today and he’s looking for a good 8 bay charger at a decent price, he does a lot of reviews and his wife and son use up his lights, lol.
The 8 slot charger sounds nice for Giggles, for charging two Q8’s at a time, or for charging all 6 of the AA’s in my DSLR battery grip in a single charger. I prefer charging a set of batteries in the same charger, and this gets larger sets done in a single shot.
Or maybe some people would like to charge up all 8 cells for their BLF GT ….
Sure, you could do 4 at a time like Lexel indicated but you’ve just doubled your wait time. Lets say you have a 4 slot (1 amp per cell) charger and 8x 3000mah 18650. That’s a lot of hours to charge batteries for 1 torch (not to mention having to change over cells halfway). This 8 cell charger would look appealing after that.
It would be great if new C8 would use same power supply as C4-12 and have option to charge 4 cells at 3A and 8 cells at 1,5A . Man that’s what I’m imagining a dream charger. You could charge all 8 cells for BLF GT in 2 hurs if using 30Q-s
I would definitely like to review one of those when they become available for testing….
I find those rates perfectly fine. 18650’s would charge at sufficient rates to not be slow, good rates for AA NiMH cells too. When I have a big event photo shoot I’m charging up 40 cells, to have another 8 bay charger that will take AA NiMH would be very important to my preparation. As an 18650 charger it would be a viable back-up to the C4-12. Nicely done.
