Sunwayman 10180 Ti Comet On Sale At Battery Junction-$18.00

those threads look like brass, would that eliminate the scratchiness of TI?

I bought the light early today. It looks like a cool little light, will be my smallest!

I want a spare battery and see 2 X 90mAh 10180 on ebay for $4.99 shipped. Not too confident about the quality.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2PCS-NEW-10180-li-ion-Battery-For-DQG-Spy-Hobi-LED-Flashlight-1PCS/301894849367?epid=2006380411&hash=item464a55d357:g:G50AAOSwhkRWdOuk

After I purchased it[she said the did not have any 10180] I found a Klarus 90mAh on Battery Jct. It is not listed but put it in the search box and it shows. After shipping it is Just over $9!! [ I can get 2 X 30Q BT. for another $1.50 @ Liionwholesale!. I guess because they are so small and not that common it drives the cost up.

Then On GG I found a Mecarmy 100mAh which is under $9

Not sure which one I am getting, take a risk on the quality of the ebay Chinese 10180 or pay ~ $9 for this puny little cell!

Lol!!! On the First Tee………………!!! SWM COMET!

I agree and went for one.

I have a couple of these and they work fine.

Ok,Thanks,

How long have you had/used them?

Quite awhile and they’ve been through several charges.

In the future I will ask if I do not know what shipping method is being used.

This has Nothing to do with the light itself but the shipping method Battery Junction chooses to use.

I will say NEVER again and here is why. DHL. Why not first class US mail?

I ordered some products for CAPO last summer. Came from Midwest…Only 600 miles from suburbs of Philly. DHL took 13 days!!!Dr,’s foster and Smith gave me a $25 gift card!

I have had stuff from California[Illumn] and Washington state get her in 3 days by first class and several times only 2 days!

Getting back to this light. Battery JCT. is a 4 hour drive and 225 miles!

I ordered on 11.14.2017 and it is not due to arrive until 11.24.2017!…We will make it 9 days because of the holiday.

Ridiculous,DHL 13 days from the mid west and 9 days from Connecticut!

NEVER AGAIN!!The half dozen or so times that I ordered from China I have gotten my stuff quicker!..No lie. That was the line I used to get that $25 gift card from Dr.’s Foster and Smith!

Out of stock, too bad

I am returning the light.

The battery read 3.99V after a FULL charge!! Within a minute of use the light was as dim as the 20L setting.

I spoke to one of the woman on the phone[I am sorry she was not up on common knowledge] and told her a full charge should be 4.20v OR close to it. She said the batteries are only 3.7V !! I had to explain that to her.

She also said there is nothing wrong with the battery. She does not even know what a FULL charge is on a L.ion battery!

The light may be fine but the battery is not. They were not willing to send me another battery so I am getting a refund, that is all that matters now.

For you other guys that may get this light, you may get the same results w/ the Blue no name 80mAh battery that come with it.

Lastly, This light is worth FAR less than BJ’S advertized[not sale price] price of $50!!! For as long as I remember they have their price and then these outrageous and over inflated retail prices next to it. This was the second time I ordered from them in my 6 plus years of this hobby, most likely the last.
I rarely buy any lights other than modified ones and my hometown dealer[Liionwholsale.com is all I need for batteries and chargers. :+1:

For the hell of it here is a comparison shot with my Two smallest lights.

Left to right:

Olight i3S-CU-Nitecore SENS CR-SWM Ti-COMET

From what i’ve read this is pretty typical for 10180 batteries (and other very small/high resistance/low capacity batteries). I doubt you will ever get a 10180 to 4.2v and maintain it for any length of time on a built in charger.

Built in charger??? This is a USB light

It does NOT have to be 4.20V. If the USB charged it to 4.15v that would be acceptable.

So a FULL charge of 3.99V is acceptable to you?! Sorry, the battery has to be old and degraded to have 3.99V as a full charge.

Yeah, 3.99V would be slightly over 50% on these tiny cells. I have a couple of those blue, no name 10180 cells and they read 4.15V after charging.

I’m not saying it’s acceptable but in practice/reality this is pretty common I think. 10180 batteries aren’t known for being super high quality in the first place then you rely on a charger which may not even have a low enough charge rate to get right up to 4.2V consistently.

I’m only relaying what i’ve read during my own research looking for a good keychain light, i’m no expert.

I’m actually dealing with a bad 10440 from Liion right now and as you know they are pretty reputable. Truth is these small batteries, are not.

You keep mentioning chargers. This is a USB FLASHLIGHT. Charged through my computer/tablet ect.

Liionwholesale will take care of you, Jon is my neighbor and that is where I get all my batteries. No shipping,I just have to go 1.5 miles to the warehouse.

Whatever the issue, I guarantee he will make it right.

Well, I received my light yesterday. The included battery wouldn’t operate the light so I proceeded to charge it using the built-in charger in the light.

I waited about 2 hours and the red charging light wouldn’t go out. I removed the battery and tested it and it only read 3.7V which is only around 25% capacity.

I thought it was a defective cell but on a whim, I decided to try and charge it on a charger I have that safely charges 10180 cells. After about 45 minutes or less, the light went off in my charger indicating the charging was complete. I tested the cell and now it read 4.18V and put it back in the light and it now works as advertised.

So, I have a light that works but the built-in charger is defective. I sent an e-mail to B.J. explaining this and we’ll see what they have to say.

Hey wolfdog, maybe the charger in your light is defective also and that’s why it would only charge your cell to 3.99V.

By the way, how would the built-in charger work anyway? When you unscrew the body to expose the charging port, the light is on. Does the light turn off when connected to a power source while charging?

Well it’s now Thanksgiving so HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all!

Looks very interesting at this sale price and I will purchase one along with the klarus battery as backup. Is it possible to turn this light on/off with a single hand?

Yes, it turns on/off fairly easily with one hand. I lubed the threads and head gasket to make it even easier. You have to be careful screwing the head back on after removal as the head gasket can easily get caught on the threads of the head and get chewed up.

One of the things I like about this “twisty” light is you tighten the head all the way down to turn it off. Almost all twisty lights turn off when you loosen the head. No chance of accidental activation.

I e-mailed BJ about the light’s built-in charger being defective. They responded by saying they would send me an RMA to send it in for repair. No way I’m going through all that hassle on a $18.00 light.

I told them I’d be happy with a partial refund. We’ll see what they say. Except for the built-in charger being defective, it functions perfectly and the included 10180 cell charges up fine using a charger I have and it’s not a big hassle to just remove the cell and charge it externally. I like the beam and the 88 lumens are plenty for a light this size.

Thanks for the update. I will order one on the hope same would have a working charger.
