Replied.

Lol, nice.

hahaha nice meme

Need your help guys.
What is optimal recess for button top 18650 mechanical protection? I mean height diffrerence between positive contact plate and plane where negative side will stop.

30Q button tops I have here from Banggood are about 67mm long measured with a ruler. Digital calipers are in the shed.

I need this size:

1-1.1mm a bit difficult with a 12’’ digital vernier, should be close enough?

Is it a replacement for the original driver ring? Or what is it used for?

It is bigger. You can use it to prevent “off or mode change from bump” feature.

Kiriba, I think it depends where they come from. Some use thicker gaskets, taller, or shorter buttons… etc… wolfdog’s picture below

PM sent about specifics for this:Mag D kit with soldered XHP50 and 2A buck driver – $30
Will it work with a cut stock reflector(? lumens) and what are the voltages and currents needed.
Thanks I would like to purchase one

Thats why Im asking. I had several lights with mechanical reverse protection but all had different “contact recess”. Trying to find optimal size.

Arrived today

When i bypassed my springs they got stiffer and some tape on the batterys to make them fit better solved that issue.

I don’t have the answer, but whenever you have those mechanical protections for the Q8 make a sales thread, you will probably get tons of orders, I want one myself!

I was thinking about another option.
What do you want for your Q8? Plastic insert inside/outside stock brass ring?

Plastic inside / outside rings for the Q8

You think both rings are necessary?

Not sure, I guess it depends on how much can a negative side of the battery wiggle while inserted backwards… Someone made lexan plastic rings that looked great

I dont see simple ways to make outer ring. If inner is enough to improve safety, I can make them.
