Mateminco MT35 (Astrolux MF02) Beamshots and Throw Measure

Does it?

Maybe that’s a reason to spend double the money?

Thanks for the review.

What are the LONGEST cells that will fit in the carrier?

I want to use either MJ1 or Panny/Sanyo GA’S. It will be modded and he states: Protected cells Only

GA Dimensions: Dimensions (including button): 69.7mm length (±0.2mm) x 18.55 mm diameter (+0.1 / –0.3 mm)

MJ1 Dimensions:Dimensions: 69.6mm length (±0.3mm) x 18.6 mm diameter (+0.1 / –0.3 mm)

Thanks

The last two pictures is the K70 definitely a better thrower. But yes for the price it’s worth it.

I enjoyed it but there was nothing mentioned in the EXTENSIVE review about maximum battery size.

,Thanks

The last 2 pictures don’t look right. The MT35 doesn’t seem to be on its highest setting or the camera settings are not the same. All the other pictures show the same brightness.

Since it uses the same battery carrier as the MF01, did you check that thread about what size protected cells fit?

There are another pictures in different perspectives.

Acebeam X65 for reference only… :sunglasses:

No,I did not know that. I will check now. I am not up on all these budget lights!!! ,even though that is the title of this forum. lol!

Thanks Jason.

I will talk to the guy who modded the light because PROTECTED CELLS [Acebeam 3100mah] fit in the carrier.Maybe he modified the carrier or the MF01 carrier is not exactly like the MT35 carrier.

The Mateminco MT35 and MT18 are very similar to the Astrolux MF01 and MF02. The heads and battery tubes are all interchangeable and the battery carriers are all the same. Saves money.

When Lexel reviewed the mf01 he said protected cells won’t fit. Then Charles BridgTec did a review of a production version and said protected cells do fit. It’s possible the battery carriers were lengthed just a little so both will work.

I would ask on this thread.

Maybe some owners can check to see if they fit.

Hey Jason, I have both mt35 and mt18. Protected button top will not fit unless you mod the spring carriers. My mt35vn takes protected button top.

So are you saying your MT35vn has a modded battery carrier? What modification needs to be done? A shorter spring swapped in?

Yes. Both carriers are upgraded… however mt35vn requires protected and used shorter spring.

I scored a nice K70 from ebay tonight for a decent price. Nice lights.

I'll have something to toy with while waiting for the BLF GT's.

Geez, how many long throwing lights do you need? Lol

For a split second, I "almost" looked over my shoulder thinking my wife said that.

Originally I planned one BLF GT, and was going to cancel the 2nd. Then the wife said go ahead and get it. The 2nd may be a gift to someone.

The K70, I just happened to get it for the price range I was willing to spend. I wanted one for a while now. I need more luminaries to fill the carry case I bought yesterday

So you’ve got plenty of medium to close range lights then?

Those are most practical in my opinion. I’ve a got Convoy C8, but never use it. It’s only good for longer distances, but the hotspot is too small to be useful. So I’m not a fan of long range lights. I’m gonna get one, though. A good one, the GT, and see if it’s more practical. The xhp35 should give a bigger, more useful hotpot.

If not, I can always convert it to a xhp70 and get a shorter range light (1200m to 1300m) with a nice big hotspot.

Which reminds me. Has anyone mentioned that Vinh over at Skylumen has converted some of these MT35 to 70.2 with new drivers for 6,700 lumen and 970m throw? That’s pretty sweet.

I have a few smaller that fit in pocket, but the 4-cell lights have recently got my attention.

Several of my smaller were given as gifts for Christmas.

If the demand is there I am planning to adapt the BLF GT NarsilM driver to the MF02

The GT driver is tested to run a XHP70 at 12V 5A

12v 5A is equivalent to 6v 10A which is about 7,000 lumen in case anyone was wondering.
