11k lumens with very high throw is nice too.

The first light to come on the market with active cooling is probably going to be by one of the bigger, more high-end companies and it’s going to cost a small fortune. You can’t expect active cooling on a budget light.

I think the most continuous power light on the market can only do 6k lumens. You really can’t expect a big jump to 10k continuous. You have to follow the rules of science.

I think it was more like 10 xhp70 or 70.2.

Looking at the side profile, it may use TIR lens instead of reflector. I hope not. I think shallow SMO reflectors would give a good mix of throw and flood.

The thing is a beast of a thrower.

This question arose one day when we were working on the design for a powerful all-wood light. We were prototyping with a 3D print, and it was noted the prototype itself was a remarkably effective and complete light in its own right. With a few tweaks for interface, production, and function it’d be fantastic. Would there be a market though for such a product? It’d have the advantages of light weight, modest price, and staggering performance. But would the undue stigma of 3D printing haunt it? We had no idea, but before pressing forward with what’d be a vastly more expensive hardwood gigathrower, we thought we’d release the Storm and see what people thought.

Modes are controlled by a three position toggle switch. Rearward is off. Flicking the switch to its center position turns the light on. The forward position is a momentary off, allowing the same intuitive and familiar mode switching common to tailswitch lights. Firmware is GuppyDRV rev.2.

If this concept gains traction, far from the last, this will be just the beginning for both lights and accessories. What about an adapter to run the storm off a vehicle? Or something even more monstrous? The sky is the limit, but if people like this concept the price doesn’t have to be too.

How come no one here has thought of a beast like this one before? If this company has managed to harness the power of the XHP 70.2 free emitter to make a thrower with 6000 lumens at the hot spot, why did no one attempt making a thrower like this here before?

App apparently they made another thrower that has 2,000,000 cd. That’s 2 millions cancels folks. It seems to me like they had already created their own giga thrower.

2 million candela it’s what I meant. Forgot to mention it also had a big heatsink and a fan on the back as well.

Yeah it’s basically a 3D printed light that’s not weather proof, has an exposed fan, an ugly beam and 15 minutes of runtime on high (uses two 20700 or 18650).
