I know the merits of those cell’s new format have been discussed elsewhere but i’m still wondering why i should bother with yet another type of battery… I have a small aluminum suitcase full of about every format spares, those 21700 batteries are hard to get and to top it off they may not even fit my current chargers. So why?

At least if this X light was a pocket flooder like a DQG Tiny 21700 with 2k lumen… or a 21700 D4…

Which chargers are known to take those cells? I mostly use a few Opus BT C-3100.

There is a high chance that 18650 being replaced by 21700 in the coming years.

The OPUS will be fine, BUT you will need a magnet on the positive end to make contact.

- At least if you use these cell

- They are flat tops - but NOTE they are more “sunken flat tops” than other flat tops or “raised flat tops”.

Quite speculative IMO. I don’t remember any popular cell format that has ever been ‘replaced’…

Thanks for the tip.
Did you order the 48G from FT? They are noted as ‘ships in seven days’ which sounds like they don’t have them readily available… and i’ve been burned a few times in ‘restocking hell’ with FT.
Oh… forgot to mention they cost twice the price of a decent 18650… :person_facepalming:

Hi…
Yes, I ordered from them a while back, more out of curiosity than of need.
But yes, I see what you men by ‘ships in seven days’ …
I am waiting for some other stuff from them right now, but on the other side - I am not in a hurry.
Price !? Yes No Maybe !! Always check for deals and/or code

I’m interested.

I’m replacing a few 18650’s in 20700 and 2170 formats. Price on a cell isn’t an issue nor availability. I have yet to use up a cell so once gotten they’ll last a good long time. My reason is I very much prefer single cell lights for size and safety. So 18650, 20700, 21700, 26650 it’s all good. I also quite using FT for their sales tactics like selling item they don’t have.

Interested depending on price and LED
