ThorFire Official Deals- Save 45% on 500 Lumen TG06S flashlight($9.89), 6th Dec 2018 Updated

I got one, Limit One per order, however it appears you can make multiple orders of One, thanks,
No tacks on mine.

Just completed my order… and no tacks!

Is the Q8 from Amazon a V2 or V3 ?

Thanks,
Mike

you mean newer Narsil?
Who knows, but by the time we get them the deal will be over.

Heed the sage advice of the EMINƎM. He speaks truly.

UhOhhh, not a fan.
Wasn’t intentional.

Got mine, LED’s a bit off-center, didn’t open it up yet… but it’s pretty nice!

The beam’s a bit ringy (very very fine rings, not too objectionable) and fried-eggy, strong yellowish corona around the hotspot, but shouldn’t bug me unless I go white-wall hunting. A bit on the cool side, but no trace of green that I can see. Woohoo!

Got a lanyard and some O-rings, the holster/sleeve/whatever is waaaaay too snug for the light, it fit the light like Kelly Bundy’s dress. Big deal, wasn’t planning on holstering it anyway, so might use it for something else.

15bux? Bargain! Glad I got 2.

Dunno offhand where I mentioned it, here or elsewhere, but I unearthed 2 huge packs of enercells (Rat Shack brand alkaleaks). Amazed. Absolutely amazed! Not a single one is leaking! Had these been Duraleaks, they would’ve been one solid fuzzy block of battery-salts.

So now I got a reason to burn off all these alkies before they maybe do succumb.

That nice AAA Orcatorch? Frozen solid by a f’n alkaleak. Took pliers (light wrapped in a paper-towel) to unscrew it. Whatever battery-ick leaked out also got on the threads like Loctite™ Gotta drill out the damned battery and try to clean it up, as I really liked that Orca.

I knew I shouldda checked first before putting it away.

Damn, I should retire most of my 18650 lights ’til I burn off alla these alkies.

went to a few home depots to try and get those screws, wasted a $1.20 on a pack of 4-40X1/4” machine screws, they looked correct, but threaded area diameter was too wide, pulled the correct screw out of light and tried to scrounge one from old digital camera and old pc, but still no success, put the light back together and will keep searching before I have to order one, but dont waste your time with home depot.

Time is money…save your time…spend the money…

I was the same way…checked electronic’s shop at work, computer store, several hardware stores…
spent way more in time and hassle than the price below…

Anybody know the battery arrangement in TK4A, 2P2S?

That’s what I was thinking when I posted that same link in an earlier post.

Screws

I was curious about that, too. I’d imagine it’s simply 4S to get 6V from alkaleaks/NiMH and feed that to a buck driver.

Wanna be adventurous? Unplug 1 cell at a time and see if it still works. If it’s 2S2P, it’ll still work with any cell missing, as it’d still have the other complete string still connected.

I’m too tired to bother doing that right now… :expressionless:

your 100% right I do this a lot cause I get obsessed with something, drove to like 4 walmarts last week cause I needed a wrist brace and it was out of stock at each one(they werent to far apart tho), even worse ,I stopped at a few pharmacies and supermarkets in betwwen that trip and could not get the item, it was surreal, like a twilight zone episode of a moron(me), ended up ordering it on amazon.

but basically my cheap light gets more expensive, so if I dont find them around the house will order.

Took 1 out. No lights. Must be 4S.
(I was too stupid to try that. :person_facepalming: )

Can’t find Thorfire tk4a on amazon or bangood anymore. Wonder if being phased out?

I received my BLF Q8 the other day. I love it, it’s my most powerful flashlight yet. How do I tell if it’s v1, v2, or whatever?

If you just got it, got to be v2.

According to Tom E:

the screws holding down the driver

1st batch had flat heads
2nd batch has round pan heads

(Careful in opening, closing head. Or, leave it alone.)

+1 - that's the easiest, simplest way to check.

Yep, v2. The screws are the round pan heads. This is a very nice light for my little collection. Thanks for the replies.
