What material do you expect for AA/14500 flashlight

stainless steel

it just depends on the light

it depends on price range, the lumen, and the style of the light
but as an EDC, Al or Ti is good

I prefer Aluminumā€¦ its cheap, light weight and conducts heat.

Aluminium is the ultimate metal for flashlights, very lightweight, great heat conductance, good heat capacity, does not easily rot away, it is pretty tough, and has an option for a great durable coating (anodising).

One major disadvantage: it costs next to nothing so people do not trust that it is that good.

I voted for aluminium! Above there are almost all the reasons why I would chose it so I wonā€™t go on them again
Iā€™m curious about the shape of it seeing that it will have 2 XPL Leds

Djozz is correct (as usual  ), Aluminum is hard to beat. It has the least amount of trade-offs and downsides of any metal. Cheap, strong, great with heat, easy to anodize, looks nice, etc. But from a less logical standpoint I really like raw metals better. Copper, titanium, brass, etc.

AL is best in all ways except durability. With stainless steel as 1.0, AL weighs .4 as much, TI weighs .6 as much.

I have just one Titanium light, a DQG SPY. Itā€™s a keychain light and I wanted maximum durability due to the banging around it gets.

Al (with anodized threads if it has an e-switch)

Agreed, the first batch will be aluminum and will take titanium into consideration in next batches if necessary.

It should be a tail clicky switch.

Donā€™t know how to upload photos to the forum. :person_facepalming:

I voted Aluminum, although if I were a bit richer, Iā€™d rather have solid Copper.

Hum, if I can give you a suggestion, create an account on imgur.com, and from there you can upload your pictures! Or you can use another image host service. I use imgur and so far Iā€™ve been ok with it!
1 - go to ā€œimagesā€ on your account menu

2 - select the ā€œsizeā€ you want to give to your photos when uploading them to your account (bigger means heavier, heavier means more difficulty to open the threads). 800x600 is a nice setting to upload photos here

3 - select the photos you want to upload from your computer/cellphone folders

4 - after uploading the photos, select the ā€œdirect linkā€

5 - on the BLF message toolbar, on the icon for images, use the direct link, and then you can resize the images to occupy more or less space in the page

Click on the photos to see them on full screen! Iā€™ve resized them to 45%

I hope this helps andā€¦I hope to ā€œsee the lightā€ youā€™ve been talking us about  On topic again :arrow_right:
:+1:

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Can you see the images now?

Oh yeahh!!! I sure can see them :open_mouth:

Nice ! This light must have a ā€œdecentā€ UI and also a ā€œdecentā€ price so I can grab one for me
I like the the way how the leds are!
One of them (left) is more Warm White and the other Neutral / Cool White? The pictures seem to show thatā€¦

More details will be appreciated when available, please

 Finally I learned how to upload images now, thanks.
It has 2 versions - neutral white and cool white.
More details will be updated in this thread.

Titanium ļ¼

I like the satin finish of the one on the right. But the skull doesnā€™t do anything for me.

I prefer the finish of right picā€¦but I do not like the skullā€¦.
I see ā€œMecArmyā€ on the left clipā€¦. the price will be aceptable?

I too prefer the look of the right one, but Iā€™m with Trevi_lux, the skull is not a think Iā€™d like on the flashlight! The ā€œstonewashedā€ look, yes, not the skull! Even if it had LEDs in the eyes, I would say that it makes the flashlight a bit ā€œbulkyā€!

But Iā€™m liking this ideaā€¦just donā€™t know if Iā€™ll like the price when it comes out :person_facepalming: :money_mouth_face:
