upcoming: Lumintop Tool AA copper

I would be interested in one with a Nichia, if they fix the pwm. My black Tool AA is pretty annoying on low and mid. Hopefully they will stick with the l-m-h order mine came with. I was super happy when I got it and found out its l-m-h instead of m-l-h.

i poke my sources...

In the UK you can be arrested for that!

It all depends on whether it has PWM.

I love many of Lumintop’s offerings but PWM is a dealbreaker.

Poke them with the sharpest stick you have. The AAA Tool is loved by many and the AA model has similar potential.

PWM and too high LOW mode are dealbreakers unfortunately, this light has a good potential I thin and it’s a shame to waste it with such a crappy driver

same here.
deal gone.

I have the Tool AA running on 14500 and i like it. It it quite small in twist configuration which is a plus for EDC. Brightness on Li-Ion is just as good as other such lights. I’m not much interested in using Ni-MH or alkaline but am glad i can use them if need be. PWM is rather fast and less of a problem then on other lights, so i guess i can live with it… although i would not complain if they got read of it.

That said, i’d be interested in a copper, brass or titanium version for collection. I like those metals but they add too much weight for EDC for my taste.

"2018"

that was the answer :D

Any news on this

nope - i think the GT did bind a lot of capacities for projects on LT

Thanks M4D M4X! And I guess the FW3A will take the rest away when it goes full speed!
I’ve been using the Tool AA with some mods (Luxeon V, Crescendo Firmware, Pebbled TIR) and I’ve been thinking about a Lumintop Tool AA Ti (mainly due to that nice tail button) with those characteristics (well, some could be different…) !

With a better/improved driver - and/or even with a special firmware like those produced by some BLF members - that would make that light one of the best AA/14500 on the market!
Just an idea, if you are in touch with LT reps

Thanks again :+1:

The very visible PWM on the Tool AA was a huge disappointment for me. A better driver is an absolute must.

A better 15mm driver for AA/14500 from BLF would be amazing, even smaller for AAA/10440 flashlights. Imagine a biscotti dual chemistry driver! I hear nice things about some AA flashlight UIs, but there are no standalone drivers readily available for simple modding. The old Tool always start on medium UI is a turn off, and the Ti is too expensive for me to get just for the UI

Crescendo.

Interested. More in ti with upgraded driver.

Works pretty fine on this

But - as I mentioned in another thread - imagine a Tool AA like the Tool AAA Ti (e-switch and metal button) with Crescendo, Anduril, Narsil FW… OMG

Anduril should be standard in the flashlight industry XD

I wish my attempts to flash it on my D4 and D1 hadn’t failed

I would buy the Tool AA if it came in warm white and if they improve the horrible UI in the Tool AAA. I bought a bunch of Tool AAA and I don’t use it because operation sucks and the low mode is much too bright for nightime use.

I’d be interested to see this happen. An improved driver featuring one of BLF’s latest and finest user interfaces would make this a very nice light in copper.
