Thanks!

I ran a test with a NiMH battery and posted the chart. Looks like it does have some regulation after the initial stepdown from high. 87 minutes on medium mode before dropping off to shutdown.

Thanks.

Thanks for the review and the give away. I have been looking into single AA lights a lot lately, and this looks like it may have to join my collection. Looks like a great gift for family, and cheap enough not to worry if they will only be using alkaleaks.

Thanks, I didn’t expect it to have any regulation but it seems it does. Which is probably why it never achieves it’s 3H runtime claim on Medium. I would rather buy a light with regulated output and lower runtimes than an unregulated light with longer runtime. I really hate it when the light gets dimmer and dimmer, which is why I’m ok with sacrificing runtime for consistent output. Really miss battery indicator function for AA, this is one clear advantage UT01 has over Sofirn.

Thanks for the review.

The runtime on medium would obviously be much longer if you started out in medium mode which is what default is, and used a better battery like an Eneloop Pro or something. I don’t know if you’d get to 180 minutes, but close maybe. The battery I used is a 2000mAh Duracell which is probably overrated in the first place.

If you know the current draw it would be a lot easier to estimate the runtimes. One thing I clearly find funny is how can Utorch ever get advertised 11hrs on 60lm mode when Sofirn barely gets 3hrs from 70lm mode. Maybe they kept on measuring even while the light went dimmer than firefly mode till death,
