Yeah Emisar D1. I thought the “1” was single emitter, “4” was Four emitter. Thats why I said D1. But my thoughts were D4 size single emitter. Short bezel, short reflector inside. May as well go small on the head OD too.
Shhh, don’t tell where the Aspire 18350’s are! I just got 8 from IMR last week. But the 1100mAh Aspire and Keeps arent made anymore.
LOL, guess I shouldn’t tell you that I am using some Old Trustfire 700mAh bought back when the XR-E P4 was New. 6 years old? Still hold rated capacity. Have been UN-protected and re-wrapped recently. If I were to buy more today, I would get the $4 red Efest 700mAh sold by IMRbatteries, Li-IonWholesale or Mountainelectronics.com Made with flat or button top.
I just got my M3 clone in the mail today. The finish and overall quality on the exterior is very nice. It had a charged battery (3.6v) in it and came on as soon as I pressed the button! Good thing it didn’t get bumped during shipping.
I was trying to see if it had LVP, but I’m not sure. At around 2.9v it would flash the main light 3 times and keep doing that every minute or 2. I didn’t see any switch lights come on. Finally at 2.6 volts I decided to stop testing.
From 2.6 volts I charged it on my Miboxer C4-12 and got a capacity of 537mah. Compared to the 670mah to 680mah of my yellow OTR M3 battery.
I dont believe these torches shut of at low voltage. When the low voltage flashing started I kept the torch on for an extended period and it would not shut off just kept giving the low voltage warning flash. Also it would not charge the battery in the one I tested at much below 3 volts. I had to charge mine in a charger to up the voltage before it would charge in the torch.
Thanks, hmmm…Do you recall seeing this photo description in the listing before? I’m wondering if it has been upgraded since this is the very last thing at the bottom of the the listing.
I sent the question to JAXMNVE, awaiting answer (hope I get a reply)
If I recall correctly, the modes where differently advised in the photos, so perhaps they did change the UI.
L-M-H seems much useful than L-H-Strobe!
If you get an answer from JAXMNVE, please let us know
I received a (one word) answer from Jack Wang at JAXMNVE:
My question:
The last photo in the description shows the function for the regular 3-mode is Low-Medium-Height, and press 3 times for Blasting Flash. Is this correct? So it has now been changed from the previous, Medium-High-Flash? I hope it is true!
Nice! A simple word can make the difference on this Well, a word and 3 “likes”
Onto topic, I’m glad that they changed the driver or UI, it will probably more “user-friendly”! Maybe they will change the UI on the other lights they have (such as the headlight), and make them more attractive as well :+1:
I have some questions for anyone who owns one of these, some may have been answered earlier in the thread but I want to confirm anyway:
1. Double click to ramping is from OFF or from ON? (or from either?)
2. When it enters ramping does it start on high or low?
3. Is there memory on the ramping mode?
4. Does it require a button top battery or will flat top work too?
5. Is the emitter genuine USA Cree or is it latticebright etc.?
Also a question for anyone who has both this and OTR M3: Is High on this comparable output to the OTR M3 Turbo?
I was considering the OTR M3 but I’d rather have NW than the warmer 5C of the OTR, plus I think I’ll like the ramping mode too. I’ve had the OTR M6 for several years and still carry it daily.
Ahhh! I thought the 3 “likes” were from them Well, the “yes” will be enough
Yup, it seems nice! Let’s see what answer they will give you Even with a “simple” UI, it would be better to have L-M-H, than the L-H-Strobe!
I’m not able to answer all the questions as I don’t have the flashlight with me! If some members can do that, nice; otherwise, tomorrow I’ll answer that
Can’t remember…
Can’t remember…
Yes, there is memory on ramping mode!
My guess is that a flat top will also work, but I only tried with the battery it came with and I have no flat top batteries :person_facepalming:
The emitter is genuine It has a nice neutral to warm tint (despite with the SMO reflector it creates some “yellowish” corona).
One thing you must be aware is the ramping mode. It is quite similar to this that freeme posted here:
The low is not moonlight, the high is not super bright! Also, when it starts ramping in one direction (up or down), even if you stop it, next time you hit the button it will ramp up or down, and it will only ramp in the opposite direction after reaching the top or bottom limit!
I believe that the 3 modes L-M-H will be much more usable than the ramping mode. :+1:
