Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Don’t worry Tom .

Now , after all your (q8 team) hard work i only see lot’s of happy members with a Q8 in their hands .

Yeah, thx Tom. The Q8 has shut down my flashaholic tendencies. (For now anyways), although I did buy another Q8 on amazon!

Thanks for all your efforts. I love both my Q8s, and I just use the stepdown timer. Reminds me of an old joke:

Sounds like a hardware problem to me :smiling_imp:

Tom, nothing to be sorry about.
I am aware of how many variables one has to take into account, when it comes to analog circuitry.

It still is a absolutely gorgeous light.
It’s just the one, I want to take with me… And that’s mainly because of the great interface.

One question: did you do those mentioned design changes for the BLF GT?
So the variance will be less with that light?

Is there a solution for people with the faulty switch LED’s yet?

Did you not get a PM? I got a message some two months ago. I eventually received a new switch assembly, at standard china mail speed (4+ weeks). Works great now.

Oh you.

Why would they send a PM?
They should have made a public announcement if replacement switches are available.

What are the details involved to get one?

I had a switch led issue.

I let The Miller know and he made a record of the problem.I made certain he knew about my issue.

After some time I received a PM from The Miller (with a CC to Thorfire). In that PM Thorfire was informed of what corrective action I needed and they were given my mailing address.

Some weeks later (about 5 weeks IIRC) I received an envelope in the mail. In it was a switch board complete with switch and led’s as well as a plastic/nylon tool for removing and replacing the switch button retaining ring.

If The Miller knew of the issue anyone had, I would have thought the same process should have happened.

I should get the same thing soon , for my Q8 .

My PM came mid October. My switch/board arrived December 4.

I also received a new complete switch PCB and tool for bezel removal in about the same time frame as MtnDon

Tom E can I get an update on my Q8. I hate to post here but you said the modifications were finished on 11/13-2017 and you just had testing to do. I have sent pms and emails but no response. I figured something got lost in the shuffle but I thought I should say something before it is lost permanently. My q8 was the one sent already in the grenade pouch and original q8 box. You received it on 11/11/17 via USPS padded envelope. I hope everything is well with you.

-Joey

We had some delays , so i received the switch “kit” today .

(The little note has the mapping of the wires)

Yep… that is what I got. About the same time frame as MtnDon & shirnask.

I am still loving this light, its become my favorite. No issues whatsoever.
Lights things up like crazy! Been showing it to couple people and they are super impressed

How’s your Chinese? After some messing aroung with a DMM and cell, I figured out that:

red with black mark : ground (G)
black : indicator LED+ (L)
red : switch (S)

Also, my board was a little loose in the switch hole so I had to hold it from the inside while screwing the switch bezel back on.

Hey Joey…… You got TomE to do mods to you Q8?? That is cool…. I bet that thing is screaming now!! :+1:

I see you said he finished it 13 November & was gonna do some testing on it. What were the test results?? Did you get a lot of extra lumens??

What did he do to it?? Screws, spring bypasses, anything else??

I assume you have it back by now…. I didn’t notice the date on your post. Anyway… I hope you do & are enjoying it.

Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Hello!

After buying the Convoy S2+ as my first Li-Ion flashlight and than immediately upgrading to the BLF A6 I ordered the BLF Q8 today at Banggood.

During the long thread I lost track about production batches and issues.
Will I receive a light of the 4th batch? Are there some issues to expect?

But for now I’ll have to wait some weeks for the shipment to arrive.

Welcome to BLF!! You should have no real issues to expect on your Q8…. just enjoy.
