Review : Amutorch JM70 xp-l hi , single cell VFM thrower

But we get replacement switch only question is now to change it :person_facepalming:

Does anyone contact store from Ali that MascaratumB gives ?

If not I will contact them and ask what the hell is happening here, why lights are different and what kind of mistery is this. Maybe they wont answer, but I will try.

Well, all the times I tried to contact them, they answered me, but I was buying from them directly.
I guess they will answer you as well! Be sure to explain what is happening and give them the link for this thread so that they can perceive what is going on.

Tom E removed his , as he mentioned he did spring bypasses .

Same UI as mine it seems, but the tailcap is different.
Mine does unscrew, but you have to use some force and it’s plastic so you might scratch it doing so.
A TA driver is on route for mine, with a black Liitokala and that reflector it should out throw my M3XS !

I contact them but so far no answer from their side.

@giorgoskok on turbo mode do you notice some timer ?

@X3 you mean M3XS-UT Javelot ?

@vidramon there is a runtime graph on the 1st post . No timed stepdown , it drops as the cell’s boltage drops.

Yes, Olight M3XS-UT Javelot. The reflector is wider and if I fed the LED through a FET it should blast some Cd !

I hav to make a little correction on what I said, on mine the double click does Turbo and triple click does Strobe.
Can’t wait to have my TA driver with Narsil to truely enjoy it :sunglasses:

’’Dear friend,Sorry for the confusion.
JM70 is our new product in 2017, had gone through two improvements. Because friends buy at a different time, there may be some differences with different tailcaps, with different mcpcb boards, with different modes etc.
About the sign on the box, Galuxia is also the trademark of our company. it’s brand Galuxia that makes on the flashlight, so Galuxia been written on the box.

The current sale of JM70 light is the same as the store described, low-mid-high-brightest(quick double)cycle -strobe(quick three click).
If have any other questions, Please let the friends in the forum contact me. ’’

can someone let me know if the driver retaining ring and side witch removable?

Thanks for your comment vidramon , i will add some of these info on my review , so future buyers will know .

This is not a driver retaining ring, in fact it is soldered to the driver which is then glued in the light.
The switch is soldered on the driver

No problem today I don’t have time for reply just copy paste a message from seller. So correct it, it is not from BG it is from manufacturer directly.

So it turn out that all is ok, just someone get older and someone newer version of this light, so I get older.
Don’t know I was skeptical when I was ordering it before 25 days, but now when I compare it with nitecore p30 at least it can get more distance for sure, it is not excelent, probably for this big reflector size must be monster, but compared to p30 which is better thrower from any stock C8 it is ok.

I read in review about modes at new model, but I’m not sure that I understand good. Question is can turbo mode be memorised ? So just tap rear switch turbo is on, turn it off, tap again on rear and turbo is there ?

What driver exactly is about ?

What kind of driver does it have?
Linear? FET?
I consider doing one with shaved SST-40…

Wat? TN42 with 490Kcd only?
Mine is CW and does 659Kcd…

Amutorch with spring bypass only 220Kcd is nice tho.
Just a bit more then my (unmodded) Acebeam T20.

Cheers
Nico

Did you mean XP-L HI V3 3C instead of X*HP*35 HI V3 3C?

I don’t know of any color binning for XHP35 HI “V3 3C”.

280Kcd is great output tho, nice!

Cheers
Nico

According to Aliexpress there is already a new version of this light, wiht USB charging port.

Note that the design has changed as well: bezel now is black, knurling on the part of the head where the switch is located is gone and we now see a few radial cooling finds.
Also the cooling fins on the head are different: more and thinner fins = better heat dissipation.
The switch has also been changed, I think it looks a lot better then the old version.

See here (scroll down to see picture): New Amutorch

Quote text line in red: “de oudere JM70 zaklamp niet hebben een USB magnetische opladen functie, een speciale korting van 25%.”.

Translation: “older model JM70 flashlight does not have USB magnetic charging port, special discount 25%” (that is on the older version of course).

Cheers,
Nico

PS….Shit, it’s already on the forum………new version already on BLF……

Got mine here look different, i dont like the fact that no off or standby mode using the e-switch.
Reflector has slight finger prints on the edge and the glass lens has flaws (circular marks).
I dont like the anodizing on this light feels cheap, maybe it is HAII?

Double click is finicky sometime it enggage to turbo sometimes it just switch to next mode, i think switch is too hard to press.
I am not into thrower so maybe i am biased, but i prefer XHP lights for more raw power to compensate for less throw.

Any chance to see the charging circuit? Is it integral part of the driver or a separate board?

Yeah
The anodize looks cheap…I would of guess HAII as well.

Lucky I didn’t pull the trigger on this light. Just too many question marks on my mine when I saw the photos on banggood.com

the anodizing reminds me of Ultrafire lights although a bit nicer and smoother. Machining is good but not sure why they include an extra front glass though.
