Low-cost copper pills, spacers, optics, drop-ins (Updated 23/10/2022))

What if the personal wanting to know the measurement does not have a 30Q BT at hand?

The difference on mine is 1.5 mm

I suppose I listed enough information why did I had to ask this question.
I had lots of button top cells, and many lights with mechanical reverse protection. Not any combination could work.

Kiriba, do the copper pills for triple convoy S2+ come with a retaining ring?

Yes - I suppose it is mensioned clearly, no?

It says regular convoy retaining ring, so i was doubting if it comes with it.

I would like one.
Merry Christmas!

PM sent.
I will add photos with retaining rings to avoid misunderstanding.

Yokohama can buy the retaining rings separately on Kaidomain.com. But they are not named with Convoy.

Did a quick search of this thread, didn’t see any b158 pills, but have read in the past that you have offered them.
Any left for sale…?

No. It was very limited production.

Received my S2+ triple copper pill yesterday!
Quality seems to be top notch, retaining ring fits in nicely.

Now just wait for the other parts from China

Mine in somewhere between customs and local post office, over 40 days average delay for this part of the trip alone at this time of the year, hope it arrives soom

Up

I have one Courui D01 that needs good pill but $30

Are you still planning to make M8 quad pills? Not asking for ETA, but right now I have an empty host which I’m wondering what to do with, so if it’s confirmed I’ll wait for them to be avaiable before making any plans.

No,M8 project is closed.
I will have one special option for C8 soon, probably it will fit M8 as well.

Just recieved 2 Quad P60 pills with retaining ring and 2 optic encloser kits. Top notch quality as always. Absolutely worth the wait.

I have to make more custom retaining rings for one project soon, but still dont have any feedback about previous ones (that came with S2+ pills and P60 shells). What do you think about cut width? How do you screw them hard (what tools do you use)?
18mm rings have thin cuts (I decided that cut shouldnt be wider than ring thickness to save this part rigid enough) and they are not comparable with most retaining ring pliers. I prefer screw it down (without driver spring installed) with stainless steel ruler. Should I make the cuts wider next time? I dont feel using retaining ring pliers for screwing brass rings, they can damage it with ease.
Note: Im talking about thin rings that can take two-side drivers, common decision with two holes in thick ring is not suitable for this situation.

Well, even if I’m not using the ring and the pill - yet (I’m still missing the other components for the build) - I feel comfortable about the ring and its dimensions.

This is a photo of your S2+ pill with the custom ring and a driver from Lexel. It is double sided and has 6*7135 chips on the back! It fits perfectly and can be screwed in easily before being in the flashlight! So far I had no problem. And that is the reason why I ordered more.

Although I grinded 2 “normal” rings of regular S2+ pill, it doesn’t have the same effect, as we lose the “holes/cuts” to help screwing in the ring. Normal S2+ pill and grinded ring on the left and kiriba-ru’s S2+ pill for triple mods on the right.
Your custom ring, for double sided drivers is pretty nice!!

What tools do you use to screw/unscrew my ring? As for me it looks little damaged. Not sure it is possible to avoid edges of cuts from bending when it is made from brass.

Hum, I normally use pointed tweezers, not to unscrew the ring, but the pill when it is inside the flashlight’s tube!
Therefore the border of the pill is a bit “scratched”. But the ring is okay.
I normally use flat tip tweezers to unscrew the ring from the pill. It helps to rotate it better once the cut is transversal to the reing! It’s just like the metal ruller, but with small surface.
For the “regular” ring , I use pointed tip tweezers!

I haven’t found nothing “wrong” with your ring so far. I only (un)screw it in or out when the pill is out of the flashlight tube, so it is not hard to (un)screw the ring. Even when the driver is like the one in the photos, with lots of chips on the back!
