It was coming from around the base of the LED. Obviously flux from the re-flow,It plumed up pretty good for a while, it would have surely smoked up the reflector!
I saw flux residue back from first factory picture of driver and DTP boards, but thought they will clean up…
Ok some alcohol on cotton stick will do the job before first run…

UPDATES: It appears that the first couple of shipments are going out by region instead of the exact order in which we paid for cost reasons. Initial quality has been fantastic.
The first shipment of lights (168 total) shipped on Dec 23. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 576th person on the paid list that did not include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Dec 27 and lights started arriving to customers on Dec 29th. DHL shipping was very fast.
There should be a European order going out in January.
The next group to purchase lights (#1000 and up on the list) will get their emails mid January instead of early January in order to let Neal get caught up with current orders.

Just curious how some folks have received more than one GT. Wasn’t the group buy list set up so that everyone would receive their first before seconds went out?
Yes, but that was only if the lights shipped out right after people paid. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
So only the first 555 got single lights (except for a handful of people that the Miller agreed to to fill up the 555 list. There were not many people signed up back then).
Anyway, the first 555 paid, then the next 556 to 1000 paid. It’s this second set of payments that a lot of folks paid for their 2nd, 3rd or 4th lights.
It was after this that the first batch of lights got shipped. Since Neal had a huge number of lights going to the usa, he just filled up a pallet with as many of the early people that paid. Up to the 576th person that paid, to be more accurate.
It sounds complicated, but I hope I explained it well enough.

What is the best way to open the bezel? Mine has a crap ton of dust on it, I don’t get how they got so much dust on the reflector.
Brrrr! Y’all sent that mess down here! It’s 24 and dropping, snowing sideways with a brutal North wind howling. Had to cut our anniversary date short and get home, saw quite a few wrecks getting picked up, glad we decided to cut it short before it get’s really nasty! Supposed to be down to around 15 here a couple of nights, ridiculous!
Sure makes it difficult to shine a mile+ thrower….

I had been under the impression that #1001+ would receive their first light before anyone received a second.
