[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

This site isn’t really custom made, not from scratch. Its Drupal, almost certainly leveraging their pre-made forum module. Its customized a bit I know, maybe enough to make something like what was suggested a bit easier, but I’m sure there’s still tons of “stock” Drupal code running here. And yeah, doing something like changing the owner of a thread isn’t usually as easy as it sounds.

Yep, top of ramp is 2 amps double click is 2.5 amps.

I went back a few pages, but I guess not far enough to find my answer. Lights with batteries haven’t shipped right? I requested DHL and paid on December 1st and am #81 on the list.

So far the same as you. Only shipping info received, no pickup.
That status is from Saturday 30 december. I hope the status will change today or tomorrow, that means I could have it here by Friday or Saturday if then deliver on Saturday.

As of this moment as far as we know they haven’t shipped yet.

TA mentioned in the Tell Us When Your GT Arrives thread he’ll try to get a update today or tomorow. Fingers crossed

Awesome, thank you- and thank you for the link!

FWIW, the bezel comes off fairly easily using a car tire to grip it.

The glass lens is 125.6mm in diameter, 2.9mm thick. The AR coating seems to have still been wet when mine was assembled, the o-ring was stuck to it so strongly that it left some black bits of rubber behind on the lens when I removed it.

The AR coating seems to be pretty good, with the white emitter I used (unknown power bin) I was seeing 2049.31 lumens with the lens installed. With no lens at all I see 2176.95 lumens, only a 127.65 lumens drop from the lens. Very decent.

Anyone know if the driver can handle 6S cell voltage?

Overall runtime would decrease, but it would be nice to have a longer regulated Turbo mode. In addition to cell carrier modifications, the LVP would need to be adjusted.

Great Resource Team-Giggles………. Thank You!!!

Thanks for the very good description of the lanyard ring. Mine was barely turnable until I took it apart as you described and lubed it up better. Now it turns easier but still tight enough so I am not worried about it letting water through.

As for the threads being reversed, they are still right-handed but because you are turning the part out the back instead of the front it seems backwards compared to many things that use a spanner to loosen. So if someone else does this just turn the center piece clockwise. Don't think of it as a left-handed thread.

Probably not.
Why would the overall runtime decrease?
To total capacity stays the same.
Only the driver might be little bit more inefficient.

Lol NVM you said 6s instead of 8s…. :person_facepalming:

^ Probably because the only way to make 6S connection with the GT stock carriers is to use 3 batteries in carrier with 4th slot populated only with dummy cell and then mod the carriers to connect in series instead of parallel setup. So there will be 6 total batteries instead of 8.

You’re welcome! I’m glad it’s helped someone already. :+1:

Good point. It’s like loosening a bolt from the tail end.

Hold the tailcap stationary and turn the needle nose pliers clockwise to remove the inner threaded piece.

Del is to thank for all the work on that thread so far. I was too sick to even think about it.

Technically the buck IC can handle 6S input, although the rest of the components on the driver would need to be adjusted for that. Lot more work then it is worth IMO.

Good point that he said 6s… had 8s in my mind.

Nice one Teacher, I would have missed that probably. You never know, European members may even get theirs before next Christmas. :smiling_imp:

I would think the only driver change would be R1/R2 and maybe firmware adjustment for LVP. The LDO is good up to 24v. Maybe some the caps would need to be upgraded, but I would probably just wait until they complained. I haven't worked with that buck converter yet. So maybe there would be more involved than I expect.

You could get away with that possibly, although the switching frequency and other factors were not setup for higher voltage.

Although for a 2.5A output you could get away with it. DEL would be the one to answer that.

OK, so I found out why my light shipped so soon. Mine arrived w/o cells. I paid for cells but they were conspicuously absent. How do we proceed?

May I suggest something? As long as they get it right next time, I have a 2nd light coming in. It would make sense to ship the cells with that light. But if that will confuse them it would require shipping them now to complete my order. I’m willing to wait as long as it’s done correctly next time. But again, I want it done right and I don’t care how it gets done. It would have been best to get it right the first time. My brother would have been made happier since this was going to be his light, but he required cells. I do have cells, so I guess he waits.
