[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Del is to thank for all the work on that thread so far. I was too sick to even think about it.

Technically the buck IC can handle 6S input, although the rest of the components on the driver would need to be adjusted for that. Lot more work then it is worth IMO.

Good point that he said 6s… had 8s in my mind.

Nice one Teacher, I would have missed that probably. You never know, European members may even get theirs before next Christmas. :smiling_imp:

I would think the only driver change would be R1/R2 and maybe firmware adjustment for LVP. The LDO is good up to 24v. Maybe some the caps would need to be upgraded, but I would probably just wait until they complained. I haven't worked with that buck converter yet. So maybe there would be more involved than I expect.

You could get away with that possibly, although the switching frequency and other factors were not setup for higher voltage.

Although for a 2.5A output you could get away with it. DEL would be the one to answer that.

OK, so I found out why my light shipped so soon. Mine arrived w/o cells. I paid for cells but they were conspicuously absent. How do we proceed?

May I suggest something? As long as they get it right next time, I have a 2nd light coming in. It would make sense to ship the cells with that light. But if that will confuse them it would require shipping them now to complete my order. I’m willing to wait as long as it’s done correctly next time. But again, I want it done right and I don’t care how it gets done. It would have been best to get it right the first time. My brother would have been made happier since this was going to be his light, but he required cells. I do have cells, so I guess he waits.

Add me the the list please. I’m super late to this party :person_facepalming:

How do you know the light you received was the first one you ordered with batteries and not what you thought was the second one without?

Hi everybody,

I'M NEEDING SOME HELP. I have to ship my BLF GT Flashlight to USA, then forward it to my country. That's the only way I can buy and receive it safely due to Customs regulations

(IF shipped by DHL, there's a chance I can ship it directly to my country. Not sure yet, it can be difficult to get my package)

I'd REALLY appreciate those who can provide me the following information and details in order to select the proper way to manage shipment, customs declarations, etc.

DIMENSIONS:

What are the dimensions of the BOX shipped from China? (I'll appreciate in centimeters, if possible)

WEIGHT:

What's the weight of the BOX shipped from China?

PICTURES:

Could someone post some pictures of the BLF GT besides something common like a bottle of Coke (please, I need the content size of the bottle to be visible, or let me know how much it is).

Some other pics to get clear ide of size may also help

SHIPPING - VALUE DECLARATION:

- Can I select my shipping by DHL to USA but tell them to declare the REAL VALUE? (Essential for Customs clearance later in my country)

- If I select DHL, can it be shipped to Uruguay (South America)? (if I choose this, the Customs declaration value and details MUST be exact, otherwise my package will be retained and HUGE inconveniences to me to get it...)

- Can I select my shipping by China Registered Airmail, with the REAL VALUE declared?

I do know about the "Customs declaration Survey" thread, but since Neal handles a LOT of messages & shipments, I'm VERY concerned to get the correct Customs declaration, otherwise I'll have lot of troubles.

For me it's not as easy as just shipping to USA, which doesn't require so strict customs forms, etc. for purchases under $200 like this one.

-- Thank you all very much in advance for your understanding and help!

lumintop ship the light without cells first, so next light will with cells

Because only the light with cells was supposedly shipped. I was in the first batch and I know what I paid for it. The 2nd light will be shipped in a few weeks and they haven’t shipped yet. Pretty simple. Easier yet, I can read the list.

Thank you, Neal.

Is there a time frame when U.S. light w/batts will get shipped?

I think they were just doing what they could to fill an initial pallet to ship out

Thanks. Clearly I’m confused. I thought they were just now building lights for the 2nd batch. Makes no difference as long as someone in charge knows what’s going on.

Pulsar, I went to the road where I thought I could test it. Not a good test site at all. The barn I wanted to use couldn’t be seen from where I was. The other one I could have seen is dark red and a very poor target. The tree lines on the other side of the cornfields are only 600 yards away and not much of a test. Dang it was cold!

I need to solder blob some cells or put magnets on them. Right now I’m using 4 solder blobbed 30Qs.

PVCC, the box as shipped is 28.5cm long, 20.3cm high, 19.3cm wide. This has a second box inside it with closed cell foam cut to fit around the light broken down into sections. The head is to one side, the battery tube with tail cap to another.

Without cells, the box weighs 2430 grams.

NEALS ONLINE!!

I got plenty of cells, but they are all flat top, and a lot of what I have needs flat top, so I don’t want to take a third of my cells and make them this lights cells. I was originally going to use the cells out of my supfire m6, but they are flat tops and would rather just get a dedicated set for this light

The SupFire M6, like the Q8, should really have button tops.

Used flat tops in the m6 since I got it, and never had an issue.
