Sofirn C8F host. 21700 C8F Available

Yes but I don’t have them home. So I need to wait either way. :weary:

No problem Z, here, take what you need, this is only a part of it….

Nice pack of MCPCBs! :+1:
I only have a quarter of that.

I got a few similar boxes with lead, tungsten, and steel in them I can trade you for. ><> ><> <><

Where’s the BLF submersible fishing light thread?

If anybody interested about the host’s any dimension I will measure before you buy it just ask me!

All this talk of modding gave me a jones to DO Something, so I stuck 4 of my new 5000K XP-L2 in my Dad’s Q8.

I will make tonight a TA OTSM driver for my heat treated L2 and make lighted tailcap for my new clear S2+. I want it to be very clear  so I putted in stainless button and the screw type pocket clip and made it a shorty. The switch lighting also be white and I want to change the green O-ring at the lens to a clear one too.

What is the diameter of the LED holes of the reflector, 9 or 7mm? Also, is the C8F host thread compatible with their C8A/ C8T host?

I’m at work now for 11 more hours. tomorrow I will measure it. I can not try the thread with C8A and C8T because this is the only Sofirn C8 I have but I can try them with Convoy C8.

You know, I’d like to convince them to offer a non-E switch version…at least, make it available as host only. Also, I’d buy a dual switch design similar to their SP31. À la Convoy L4 with 3 LEDs.

I told them it will be nice to buy separately the tailcap with switch.

The first C8F was non-e-switch, tail clicky only but a triple still. I modified it with a Noctigon and XP-L V6 3D emitters, my brother used it last night helping me take beam shots of the GT out at the lake, hmmmm, didn’t get the Sofirn back either! lol

What did she say? They are usually receptive to new ideas and they welcome suggestions to improve their product, which I think, is the way to go. It’s a step in the right direction.

Nothing yet. I think I told too much in one message and not all info went through.

For me having the e-switch is half the appeal. How much different is a C8+spacer+cute3 setup than this reflector, really?

A LOT! The CUTE-3 doesn’t have as tight a focus, is more floody. I don’t think the lumens out the front will be the same from the optic either.

It has 5,3mm thick integrated shelf which is good because MCPCB to shelf is less thermal contact layers than MCPCB to spacer and then the shelf. And me and maybe some other folks here to better like side E-switch lights. And with E-switch it is easier to switch very high currents.

And Dale is right too. Optically is totally different.

Personally, I’d prefer more reliable, proven design to gimmicky e-switch.

I have question to Dale. Which would give a better throw for the new C8F, the higher binned XP-L HD V6 or XP-L2 V5?
