So easy for stuff to get buried here, I’ll repost so it can be seen….
Comparison, GT with CW XHP-35 vs. GT with WW XHP-35, very cloudy night, light sprinkle coming down….64ºF with 75% humidity. Water tower is (still) 1.9 miles away. This time I set the 2 second timer on the camera and held the light about 8’ away to the right of the camera so the beam shot isn’t looking down the beam of light.
Base shot, (all 3 shots are with the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens at 200mm, ISO1600, f/4.0, 0.5 sec in manual focus from the 5D MkIV, Med Jpg SOOC)
CW
WW
I have 8 matched LG M25 18650 cells with solder blobs, I used one carrier from my light with the rear 4 in the WW GT, used the empty WW carriers in the rear of each light. So each light is running on 4 matched LG M25 cells.
We already do this to some degree now, although mostly we have focused on the big influx of orders. A lot of people never send their user name or it is not spelled exactly right and makes it hard to manually check each and every order.
All it has to do it survive ~2 weeks after the next round of PM’s before the code gets out. At that point it will be a free for all for the first 1500 lights I am guessing.
Sure looks to my eyes as though the cool white is putting more light on all areas of the target. All items in the pic are easier to identify in the CW shot. Thanks for the comparison.
I’ll be the odd man out. I like the pic with the warmer emitter better. Reaffirms for me to keep it stock, at least until a new generation of XHP35 comes out.
Thank you very much for posting. It’s appreciated.
I agree his order should be cancelled if it’s not processed yet. And he was further defending his position with no regard for others. The biggest harm may have come to those at the tail end of the GB when it’s down to who gets the last of the 1,500 lights.
I respect that this will be dealt with privately in any event.
I knew he was doing something shady, but I never pm’d him because I already have my light. I thought maybe he had registered for several extra lights and was selling at a high markup or something until you posted what he was actually doing.
