I’m in
I have done some reviews though not recently,
here are a few of them

This light was provided by Thorfire for review.
I am liking this light, it is similar to a Convoy M1 in size and versatility. It runs on a single 18650 (included but read below) and has excellent modes. It also comes with a clip, lanyard and a small assortment of replacement parts if you should ever need them. Since it is similar to the Convoy M1 i will use the Convoy as a reference in this review.
Observations:
This light has a steel bezel (foybezelled), it has excellent m…

This light is pricier then the average linear driven XP-L (HI) flashlight but comes with several advantages over its much cheaper competition. Its main selling points are an advertised 618m of throw, temperature regulation and constant brightness. I don’t have the equipment to measure throw but it does seem to maintain constant brightness till the low battery indicator comes on (locks out higher modes …
It came last week but i got the wrong plug, Xtar was very gracious and sent me a new north america plug which arrived today
So plugged it in, it did nothing for a few seconds then sprang to life. I’m not sure if thats a first startup anomaly or thats normal, i’ll find out
I put 4 batteries at various levels of discharge and it shows percent charge and mAh put in. It has 4 bays, and you switch between them with the center display button. The sound was turned off, and the manual d…

Banggood has provided a 20% off code for this light, CLV4A

After a long wait of 2.5 months (not Banggood’s fault, Canada post had a customs delay of over a month because of Christmas postal volume) this light finally arrived.
I like this light because of its 4AA design which is a neglected form factor, i don’t know why exactly, it only needs a linear driver like those used in our popular 18650 lights. The…

The light was packaged inside a small bubble-wrap bag inside a thin cardboard box inside a standard bubble-wrap mailing envelope. It came by Swiss Post to the West Coast of Canada in about 3 weeks with no damage. The host has decent anodizing for this price point and my sample had no flaws. The tailcap w…

Sofirn SF31W
Imagine my surprise when I just received this new bugger today, an SF31 (nb: no relation to the SP31 dual-switch) tail-clicky in a wonderful warm-white! I’m kind of eager to get a quickie “review” out there, so it’ll be brief. No pix nor disassembly, but I’ll try to “flesh it out” as I get the time.
As far as color-temperature and tint, my best guess in Cree parlance would be a 7D tint (just eyeballing it, no instruments). Not a hint of green, and I don’t look positively jaundiced (skin tinted …

I’m in. Shipment should be fine as long as surface mail is used and they are packaged safely. I don’t mind the wait, am used to average 80 days from China anyway.
