Tom knows about the switch light on off “feature”. I’ve done it many times on the Q8. When your ramping up from on or anywhere hold the switch from the ramping then quickly click it off. That should change the standby switch light from off to on or vice versa. The software on the GT is different and I played with that setting not my GT, just the Q8. Hope that helps.
Mine arrived in Sydney Australia yesterday, 1 day before the DHL estimate, ~3 weeks after payment.
What an amazing flashlight, it is great to see we can still make such high quality items at decent prices.
I could now use a cradle to mount it in a vehicle, also perhaps a snap-on cover to spread the light as an option; simply some accessory ideas from a happy customer - thanks to all who made it happen.
@DB Custom and lawallac
thanks, but no result. Switch cover is definitely not opaque, I unscrewed it.
It must be lighted, at least after successfull factory reset.
I think a lot people were freaking out about shipping times because it seems many could not track their package and unknown to them if it even shipped yet. Many became upset that others were receiving theirs before them etc…especially those who had a better spot on the list. In the end we will all get our lights so just continue to be patient and lets not continue to make a big deal over this.
Let them do the proper QC checks without rushing them.
I think I speak for many when I say quality first.
Hey T/A get a hold of Lumintop and tell them don’t throw any reflectors out that look like they have a Light OP finish on them, there is a small market for them, I’ll take 2!
Yikes! Intriguing for sure, but, IMO, a very bad idea. I don’t have mine yet, but once the list gets say 60% filled, then what happens? Is it going to get even MORE people saying, “Hey, where’s mine…?”
Plus, it’s one more thing for the team to have to manage.
I think we’re taxing their sanity enough the way it is.
My brother has received a dhl cart that the GT is delivered at his neighbors. He just found the cart and his neighbors are asleep now, 23.47 PM in The Netherlands.... Hope to get mine tomorrow. Neal has managed to get our GT’s quickly from registered to DHL, just before they went out...
I agree with this, I would prefer for Lumintop to provide the best quality reflectors they can for the money we pay. And i am happy to wait longer for a better quality reflector.
Well done to the team btw, great job keeping up with this thread and all the questions :+1:
I think that the people very concerned about getting theirs quickly have been a vocal minority in a large group buy. Even they would probably be happy to wait for the best possible product. Most participants have remained patiently silent, probably not posting to this thread much or at all.
Lumintop, best possible quality, please. Thank you.
I am just amazed at the quality of these lights. As far as I can tell…. my GT’s are absolutely perfect, inside & out.
No blemishes
No tiny scratches
Everything perfectly anodized
Clean
Lubed properly
Just perfect…….
GREAT JOB LUMINTOP!!!
And of course THE TEAM did amazing in designing this light!!
AND also the behind the scenes work of all from keeping up with & making lists, answering questions, sending PM’s with ordering instructions, you name it…… GREAT JOB!!
Most who were worried about shipping schedule were not because they had not yet received their light. It has been about people getting upset when someone else got shipped first, unfairly or not. And it’s nothing to take seriously, really. Just keeps adding useless posts to the GT thread. This message included.
I believe almost everyone agrees after thinking for a while: Quality control is important. Rushing a project like this is dumb. Even those who don’t seem too patient will prefer quality to speed.
I put Neals “paid/shipping lists” back on post one. I think they are only semi helpful due to not being complete and outdated, but if it helps anyone, it’s there.
It seems quite a few of the packages are being sent without tracking notices sent (from DHL). I’m not sure why. If you’ve paid for your light, but haven’t got a tracking notification from DHL, it’s quite easy to call them at 800-CALL-DHL or 800-225-5345. If your outside of the USA there might be a different phone number. Just go to their website and click the link for customer service. Call them up and ask for a representative. Then just give them your name and zip code (or whatever represents your country). I tried it just for giggles. It was quite easy and the operator was very nice.
I don’t know if registered mail can be checked. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to check with your local mail service.
Or you can just be surprised when it arrives. That’s pretty cool, too.
Even though Neal couldn’t ship by the exact order of those that paid or of those that signed up, he is still doing his best to use the order that was paid. These recent international shipments seem to be for people on the early side of the paid list as evidenced below. (These are paid list numbers)
