BLF GT official support thread [FAQ updated 11 Jan 2018]

I believe your talking about the moon level 1 to 7?

Level 1 is not guaranteed to work. It depends on the particular emitter whether it will light up or not. This was also true of the Q8. It’s also why level 3 was set as default as it should be more likely to light up, yet still be fairly dim.

I think you will find that your light will also not light up in moon mode in the ramping setting.

The only way to access moon mode in ramping is to turn the light on by a press and hold and then quickly release the button before it starts to ramp up.

BTW, ramping only goes down to the equivalent of level 3 moon mode.

Cool, that actually makes sense. I will mention that in my vid. Thanks again!

Your vids are hilarious, especially that opening scene in the vid in the OP (some acting skillz!). Always appreciated. Am looking forward to your XHP70.2 mod vid. May want to get a second one for that purpose

Thanks Team btw. What an amazing effort, from inception to development, and now support. I’m honored to be part of this great community. (I signed up on BLF, after lurking for a while, just to get on the GT groupbuy [and many groupbuys later…ouch]).

Jason, I noticed @ 1:50 in your light make the same glass popping noise mine does… About every ten minutes mine will do that LOL!

I’m not sure if it affects NarsilM, but in RampingIOS one of the things I fixed was a race condition of some sort which could occasionally corrupt the eeprom. I don’t recall the details exactly, but the patch is in the repository. I think I changed it to A) use library functions instead of direct register access, B) disable interrupts while saving, and C) erase before writing instead of vice-versa. I haven’t heard any prior reports of anything like this for NarsilM though, so perhaps the issue was only in RampingIOS v1.

Yep…. that is the exact same sound mine makes too. :+1:

Great video also Jason, thank you! It answered in a simple to understand way what I was trying to figure out in the blinking modes.
A huge help……. :+1:

Here is my take on the UI

Hi there,

I would like to purchase the BLF GT Giggles as well as the Samsung batteries mentioned. Is there another waiting list available to be put on or is it available to purchase right away?

Thank you in advance,

Joann

Hi and welcome joann. The group buy on this light has expired. Undoubtedly when the orders for the group buy are fulfilled the light will be available to purchase from re sellers.

I’m sorry, but it is not available for sale right now. Existing orders are still being fulfilled. Once the light goes for sale to the public, Madmax might have a sale on them.

You can send him a PM, personal message, and ask if he will notify you when he puts them up for sale.

It may be a couple of months, though.

I’m in Plaistow nh if youd like to come check out my BLF GT.

Thank you for the info, I will try sending a PM.

Joann

Thank you that’s good to know, I will be looking forward to it!

Joann

Thanks for the offer, but I’m pretty much already sold on it.

Hi there,

Hope you are well? I’m Tom, a Researcher for The Gadget Show on Channel 5, Europe’s biggest weekly technology review show broadcast in over 100 countries worldwide. I am currently putting together some shoots for a brand new series which will air in Springtime this year. We would really like to do a feature around the The BLF Giga Thrower!

Link to The Gadget Show’s website: My5

We are going to do a survival special, where all 4 of our Gadget Show presenters will be going into the woods using the best survival tech on the market. This is the perfect platform to feature the BLF Giga Throwerwith its incredible 120mm reflector throw! We understand the flashlight is phenomenally powerful so it will be handled with great care when we feature it on the show.

We have a date in mind for a couple weeks’ time so I wanted to see what the availability of a sample is like and see if you may be able to send some out to us? As soon as possible would be great so we can get used to the tech. The show will air in the UK in early April.

Let me know if this sounds possible and we can go from there. It would be great to speak with yourself directly about this.

Thanks very much!

Tom

I’ve just pinged you an email Tom. If Lumintop can’t get you one in time I’ve got one sat at my house.

Very interesting, PM is inbound.

I am in the USA so can’t really call you and I HIGHLY recommend removing your phone number from this post ASAP.
