Skylumen selling BLF GT for 1000.00!!!

P60 drop in hand crafted by Wayne back in the early days …

SST50 emitter direct drive.

Why hate? Skylumen has right to sell light at price he wants. He owns the light. If buyer wants to pay his asking price then let it BE. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. Seller felt what he wanted to sell for and set his price. As far as it selling for asking price it will a different story.

Skylumen does some decent MODs from his videos hence he can command prices he wants.

Buyers either pay asking price or walk away without ranting. Pretty simple concept.

BTW, I do not know Skylumen personally, but have bought from him in past.

Who is Wayne?

Electrolumens Wayne?

is he the one from CPF? :face_with_monocle:

For me I think he is overpriced as well. His lights are not built from the ground up. He was just using an off the shelf lights and ramping up the LEDs. If it's one of those custom lights from the ground up I think he could put up a price like that. The BLF GT was made through the efforts and mind of so many great people of BLF but he bought a light so he could do whatever he wants to it. But selling it for a top dollar price i don't think so. This is just the way how I look at it.

Wayne, the man, the myth!

I reckon the dropin could possibly be E1320’s creation. All his pictures are down so cant locate anything to show it. He did lots of modding when he was here.

What ever happened to him? I bought a few dropins from him, he was always super nice. Also, does anyone remember Foy?

I believe his plan is to put a CFT-90 into the BLF GT. The LED alone is $100+.

I don’t get why anyone is complaining about the costs of his lights, if it’s too much, then get the equipment/parts/skill/time and do it yourself.

TN42vn 90[CFT-90’] COST” $0.00!

TOWER 400 YDS.

TOWER 902 YDS.

Orion The Hunter to the LEFT of Light Saber!

TK61vn V4-Cost-$280

There is More here:

My guess is the OSLON Black flat. The CFT-90 is very expensive and he is concerned about warranty/repairs if it fails.

Maybe he will try Both!

I’ve only purchased from him once. A P60 Drop-in for my solarforce. Communication was good and he gave me the moon mode and tint i wanted. This was when not many people were selling P60 with that mode. A year later the driver started acting funny and he responded right away. He even upgraded the driver for free. Stand up guy. Only reason i dont buy from him is because of blf. Too many good value deals. I think he fills that gap in for people who dont want to invest in tools and parts and dont have the ability/understanding of lights to monster mod. Im one of them. The farthest i can go is solder the mcpcb and driver and im fine with that. Blf team is putting out some great value lights for cheaper than i could build. Hard not to buy!

From what he said at the time and from memory, he had an issue with being able to hold his hands steady and slowly posted less. I had lots of good chats with him, Eric.

Sorry but not his lights. Maybe the LED and the whatever he puts on it to throw more. BLF GT was made by so many people with great ideas on here. He is just modding the lights, engraving his name on it and call it his own. You do that in United States of America or any country that has registered trademark definitely someone will sue you. For me it is not called "complaining" it is being fair and just.

This is a light that someone can put his name on it because he built it from the ground up. https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/40349

many have done Mods with better drivers I was quite busy getting some things done last months
TA DD+ 7135s quite a while on sale now, good results in many lights
Buck driver now going into production
and Boost driver prototype will be tested soon

I don’t own any of Vinh’s lights, but I’ve followed his work for half a dozen years and I don’t think that he markets his modded lights as being solely of his own design.

Modding a light and etching your ‘logo’ on it hardly qualifies as such, IMO.

Whether they’re ‘worth’ it to you, is of course up to you, or anybody else and judging by the number of Vinh fans out there, people own a lot of them.

Several years ago—when I first got into lights Vinh was the only place you could buy a Dedomed light— I think his modding and selling thousands of lights / along with countless others here and elsewhere has influenced what manufacturers are offering today
Don’t get me wrong— I’m not spending that amount of money on lights either—- but I don’t care if others do

As far as modifying products to a special edition—it’s done all the time trucks, motorcycles even shoes
