Cree changed production process for XP-G2 emitters!

I wonder what this led can do @ 6A in the GT. 2Mcd maybe?

It will do up to 1.8Mcd.
The “good old” XP-G2 S4 2B has a maximum luminance of 200cd/mm^2.

If the carrier of the MF-01/MF-02 works with the GT i will give it a try , i already have carrier converted to 4P .

It would be interesting

But why 4P? It has a great buck driver.

I won’t use the stock driver . Probably a fet driver

Glad to hear that, and we still have some Kings

Go for it “G”! :+1:

Are these new s4 2b that Hank uses in Emisar D4 etc ?

Dude, Hank posted that

I know that . This link was active long ago before Hank posted he found some old xp-g2’s ! This link doesn’t indicate old/new batch , it’s his general xp-g2 s4 2b link he had , with “new” xp-g2’s .

Hank people are bit confused now…

Are this good old emitters or bad new one? New one is not a King… New is :confounded:

If I say King, of course they are the old ones, the same as you got :sunglasses:

Thanks Hank for the clarification :+1: :+1: :+1:

I give them 2 hours max before they will be gone.

Be fast guys!

Maybe because that is what he wants to do?

Ain’t it a bitch when some refuse to run with the herd? :+1:

I’m always open to suggestions haha  Many times there is somenthing in front of me but i ” can’t ” see it .

(Hahaa with me it’s) After the smoke clears…. :person_facepalming:

I’m just trying to understand why.
I don’t see the benefit of FET drivers with this LED. Only buck drivers will ensure full output for the longest possible time and the GT comes with a perfectly capable one.

I would really be interested how to convert the stock driver to drive a 3V led . If you have some info it would be great , i think we made enough spam here

Edit :

I think i will make a question on the “GT modding” thread .

BTW , i think driving an LED with 4* 18650 isn’t much different than using a buck driver , i think we had a discussion with Dale about this some time ago .

Interesting to see what kind of current these will handle.

Pretty sure they will be popping before 6 amps, though.
